I agree. Express, my foot. They just want to charge more money. Sv. 502 now doesn't ply any expressways. Maybe SBST would convert them to normal services?Originally posted by FireIce:not relli "express" imo.....journey damn long....routing through many places/estates......
jus bcos they go by expressways so it's called "express service"?
Excuse of withdrawal of 520: 851 has almost the same route except that it does not ply on expressways... 851 is usually about 85% packed in peak hours ever since...Originally posted by gynobcard:bulls eye. but i dont really agree with the comment on svc 520. i took it on the PM peak on a few occasions and it was always 80% full. most ppl boarded along new bridge rd/KKH and alighted at yishun ring rd. maybe there were other reasons for its withdrawal?

Why not merge 97 with 502 to become new 97? Extend 97 to Boon Lay will solve the problem.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Sv. 502 is not an express service now but still charges express fares. I'd rather take Sv. 7 from C'menti or Sv. 97 from Jurong East.
BOON LAY?! Boon lay is already crowded as it is.. Making a service with excellent demand would make it even worse as more buses of the new 97 would have to park there.Originally posted by sbs&tibs:Why not merge 97 with 502 to become new 97? Extend 97 to Boon Lay will solve the problem.
Now that is what I had in mind.Originally posted by sbs&tibs:Why not merge 97 with 502 to become new 97? Extend 97 to Boon Lay will solve the problem.
Agree with youOriginally posted by FireIce:yupz....502 route was halved......shd revise and perhaps downgrade it to normal service...........
Are u sure it is ulu?Originally posted by leeJZ:The only express service that is half useful is Sv 507. At least it goes quite a lot on express. But MRT is still cheaper and you dont have to wait as long.
Boon Lay Interchange badly needs upgrading. Very cramp and small, its like the AMK Temp Int plus another apron for fixed berths. Maybe they should make Jurong West Interchange to ease the crowd?
BTW on Boon Lay Interchange, is that place only crowded because of the JIS services? Because BNL is quite ulu and the area around it is quite empty compared to other estates...
Some parts are ulu only... eg the part near Westwood SecOriginally posted by BlessingSatan:Are u sure it is ulu?

Certainly bigger. If u go to AMK Int, you will find the reason why there are no new services in AMK in these 2 years... as there are hardly any more berths available! 24 takes up 2 berths... one to Tanah Merah and the other to Changi Airport. However, BNL Int is about 3-4 times AMK Int and certainly, there are quite a lot of space to have new berths.Originally posted by off_service:Boon Lay Interchange is WAY BIGGER than Ang Mo Kio Temp Int.
At one point of time, Bedok Interchange housed more services than Boon Lay Interchange, thus being the largest Interchange in Singapore in terms of bus services.Originally posted by leeJZ:I only gave a rough estimate -
How about this instead - about the size of Bedok, maybe smaller, but BNL handles 29 services while Bedok handles about 25...
And Svc 30 has the privilage of going to these 2 places.Originally posted by Superbus:At one point of time, Bedok Interchange housed more services than Boon Lay Interchange, thus being the largest Interchange in Singapore in terms of bus services.
