If you would notice properly, most of the people on express services are actually adults. Students wouldnt want to take express services often because taking express services is as good as charging adult fare for them. Its advantages for the adults but for students, they would rather take the hussle to transfer instead.Originally posted by gynobcard:SBS 9120D was deployed on 502 after the first few weeks of the amendment from Boon Lay to Marina Centre mostly on weekedns as cameos. But after that they replaced the fleet with the 0405 Jurong Island buses.
Svc 506 is packed during morning and afternoon peak hours. It serves mainly those who want to go from Bukit Batok to Bedok/Bedok Reservoir. Dont assume express services have no demand just because they charge higher fares. The are some who dont mind paying for a more convenient ride rather than having to take feeder/MRT/feeder again. That's precisely the rationale of introducing the services in the 1st place
When Express 501, 502 and 503 were introduced as the pioneer Express services, SBST mentioned that it's target passengers are those working adults as these services mentioned bring them from the towns to their workplaces in CBD.Originally posted by service_238:If you would notice properly, most of the people on express services are actually adults. NB: Express svc fares is 1-tier (adult) only, not 2-tier (adult/student).
and thus, students are charged the same fare as adults!Originally posted by tranquilice:When Express 501, 502 and 503 were introduced as the pioneer Express services, SBST mentioned that it's target passengers are those working adults as these services mentioned bring them from the towns to their workplaces in CBD.
Still judging how empty Sv. 506 buses are during off peak hours it's safe to assume little profit is to be made.Originally posted by gynobcard:SBS 9120D was deployed on 502 after the first few weeks of the amendment from Boon Lay to Marina Centre mostly on weekedns as cameos.
