Apparantly there's no space on top of the bus for an aircon outlet. I find that its practically impossible for them to be converted.
Using the same body, it's quite impractical. But using a new body, it could be possible.
As for earlier discussions about rear axle load due to the addition of the air con unit, I believe it is possible that it is capable of bearing the extra load since we have 10.3m 2-axle airconditioned double deckers around the world. Of course it is entirely possible that these buses may have a strengthened rear axle that the VOs do not have.
