Do you mean service 70 did terminate at Old Upp Thomson too?Originally posted by Yusry:And to add on, 73 terminated at Old Upper Thomson Road, along with service 71 (Geylang Lor 1 - Old Upper Thomson) before being amended to terminate at YCK.
Route of 71 is similar to 70, except it plies Geyland Road instead of Guillemard Road.
BNDEP has some LO 3 axles for sv 10. ARBP or BBDEP also has a small number of LO 3 axles.Originally posted by BlessingSatan:Besides SLDEP & AMKDEP,Which others depots have MB0405s and Leyland Olympians?
It's SLBP. ARBP, BBDEP and BNDEP have 3-axle LOs.Originally posted by BlessingSatan:Besides SLDEP & AMKDEP,Which others depots have MB0405s and Leyland Olympians?
HGDEP has TWO Merz.Originally posted by BlessingSatan:Besides SLDEP & AMKDEP,Which others depots have MB0405s and Leyland Olympians?
They were scrapped 2 years ago. I used to see those buses on 13 outside my Bishan window as i knew then that 13 was the only service that goes straight at Bishan Rd/St 11 junction.Originally posted by freakybuses:Why was Nissan Diesel not used for service in SBST nowadays? They are phased out in year 2003.Originally posted by freakybuses:Why was Nissan Diesel not used for service in SBST nowadays? Used to ride on svc 13 and 197 in Nissan Diesels...![]()
Nope. I mean the route of 71 is similar (NOT THE SAME) to 70's. I assume if one knows the route of 70, they can deduce the route of 71 from Jalan Kayu junction onwards to Old Upper Thomson Road.Originally posted by tranquilice:Do you mean service 70 did terminate at Old Upp Thomson too?
Correction: Geylang Rd, not Geyland Rd.
Noted, thank for the explanation.Originally posted by Yusry:Nope. I mean the route of 71 is similar (NOT THE SAME) to 70's. I assume if one knows the route of 70, they can deduce the route of 71 from Jalan Kayu junction onwards to Old Upper Thomson Road.
Furthermore, I don't think there's a need to point out obvious spelling mistakes, but thanks anyway.
The Nissan Diesel U31SCN were new in 1986 and first deployed on AIRCON 3. They were taken off passenger service in 1997 and subsequently used as training buses until their retirement at the end of 2003. Only 5 buses (out of 20) had remained by that time.Originally posted by off_service:They are phased out in year 2003.
Wait, how come I remembered seeing them on Sv. 15 in 1998-1999?Originally posted by The_Bus_Guide:The Nissan Diesel U31SCN were new in 1986 and first deployed on AIRCON 3. Maybe as a sub-bus.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Wait, how come I remembered seeing them on Sv. 15 in 1998-1999?
Yes, probably as sub-bus.Originally posted by BlessingSatan:Maybe as a sub-bus.
I thought Sv. 15 had a perm fleet of U31SCNs in 1998-1999?Originally posted by Yusry:Yes, probably as sub-bus.
Service 15 was introduced in 1997 as a Eunos - Pasir Ris bus, which had an arrival interval of approximately 17 minutes.
It was amended to Marine Parade Road sometime in 1998, I believe. This resulted in an increased frequency (it merged with M4 and thus had to have M4's frequency) and Volvo buses were used in addition to the occasional Nissans, which had almost disappeared by then.
Yes, I believe the Nissans were perm on Service 15, although for a very short period of time, just before its withdrawal from passenger service.Originally posted by SBS9818A:I thought Sv. 15 had a perm fleet of U31SCNs in 1998-1999?
Service 403 was also using Nissan Diesels in the mid 1990s (ard 1994).Originally posted by Superbus:Yes, I believe the Nissans were perm on Service 15, although for a very short period of time, just before its withdrawal from passenger service.

Service 15 was actually introduced in 1995. It was extended to Marine Parade in 1997.Originally posted by Yusry:Yes, probably as sub-bus.

Wrong its Renault PR.100.2 not series 3Originally posted by SBS9818A:1. Renault PR100.3, Sv. 3 bus. Introduced in 1988, withdrawn in early 90s?
4. Geylang Lor 1 has been around for a long time, same for Changi Village, Rumah Tinggi and LCK.
Sorry, I was mistaken about "1997". The introduction should be 1996 and not 1995. I remember mentioning the introduction of service 15 to my English teacher who is an Indian. And that would be me being in Secondary 3. (1996)Originally posted by tranquilice:Service 15 was actually introduced in 1995. It was extended to Marine Parade in 1997.
Service 15 first appeared in the 1996 bus guide, the information cut off date for the guide is 31 Dec 1995, which means it was introduced in 1995. If I remember correctly, it was introduced in September 1995.Originally posted by Yusry:Sorry, I was mistaken about "1997". The introduction should be 1996 and not 1995. With this, it seems the later 8xx Mk IIIs use ZF! Especially the unrefurbished ones.Originally posted by ^tamago^:i noe 877M also uses ZF gearbox, but the last time i saw it was on svc 96 and it doesn't seem to appear often..
