The criteria states that the stations will not be named after commercial bldgs and private institutions. Therefore, Suntec and Millenia are out.

why did u insist on retaining Boulevard Station's name? may I know ur rationale? The term doesn't bring out the identity of the area at all. -
in the future, the stretch of Stadium Boulevard, as we used to know, will be permanently be replaced by a pedestrian mall above the MRT station and i feel having the name "Boulevard" will help retain its historic value. the name "Stadium", i feel, is too generic.Originally posted by kenmin:@^tamago^

For Nicoll Highway station, someone suggested Golden Mile station, which I think is more appropriate as it is in or near the Golden Mile area.

LTA invites feedback on names for MRT stations along Circle Line
SINGAPORE : The Land Transport Authority is inviting feedback on suitable names for MRT stations along the new Circle Line.
The first three stages of the Circle Line will have 12 stations. It will pass through Orchard Road, the civic district and some of the busiest corridors in the city and some residential towns.
Most of the stations have been given a working name.
The station next to the War Memorial Park, for example, has been called Convention Centre.
But now the LTA is asking the public whether they agree with these names.
"I kind of like Convention Centre because this area is all about convention halls. So it is to identify with the place."
"Personally I think it is Suntec Station because it is simple and it is Suntec City!"
"Certainly, if you put Memorial Park it would be a nice name."
"I think Esplanade is better, well-known especially among the tourists."
But the LTA has some rules about how these stations should be named. There should not be any names of commercial buildings or private institutions.
It is also not keen for stations to be named after roads as these could span long distances and may not give a good idea of the station's location.
The station next to the Singapore Art Museum is now called "Museum Station", but even a Turkish expatriate prefers calling it 'Bras Basah'.
"Bras Basah sounds better to me than Museum...it is too generic, too common," he said.
"I will prefer Bras Basah because it is a very old name, and everybody knows the place. And I can identify with the area rather than calling it Museum Station. Some of the older folks may not know 'Museum Station'."

The Convention Centre Station is obviously Suntec City Station, the MRT station is built next to it for Suntec City...Unless the name of the whole place change in future.....In which case maybe Memorial Park will be ok....
It is not really near enough the Esplanade to call it Esplanade.. The Esplanade itself is almost just as near to City Hall station..
As for Marymount, they should keep to Marymount. Because, Marymount Road is not really long and the station is almost in the middle of the course of the road, plus it is near the junction of Marymount Road and Marymount Lane....I think it sounds ok too... If it is Shunfu, it is only at the Shunfu estate side.. I believe that there is another entrance across the Marymount Road after the junction near the future RJC site. That part of the area i don't think is called Shunfu, right?... -

I wonder why "Tanjong Katong Station" is the working name for Old Airport Road Station (Near Food Centre / Market).
Tanjong Katong is a distance away from Old Airport (affectionately known as "Kallang Airport" to older folks).
I personally prefer "Old Airport" or "Kallang Airport" or "Old Kallang Airport" station. -

As for calling it Esplanade Station, I agree with ur point. it's too far. that's why I never like the name of City Hall Station and Clarke Quay Station.
As for Marymount Station, if there is a more localised name that is more suitable, in this case, Shunfu, I think it is better to opt for the latter as the term Marymount could be used for other stations in the area, if there is any. -

Tanjong Katong is a distance away from Old Airport (affectionately known as "Kallang Airport" to older folks).
I personally prefer "Old Airport" or "Kallang Airport" or "Old Kallang Airport" station.
