Okay, that part is right, but majorit of CCK buses are old, that is not showing commitmentOriginally posted by Yusry:$57 million translates to about $400k per bus. That would be the cost of an articulated bus.
And what are the "new" articulated buses? The Hispano Habits....
And which service was first given the Habits?
190....
And where does 190 go to?
Choa Chu Kang
So back 1999 - 2000, that article is truthful.
But you get new Habits like 1201, 1210, etc.Originally posted by cck_190:Okay, that part is right, but majorit of CCK buses are old, that is not showing commitment
Not to mention 1235, 122X series too.Originally posted by SBS9818A:But you get new Habits like 1201, 1210, etc.
WD depot has Volgren 0405 bendy/non-bendy, Newer Habits, And the newer buses.Originally posted by TIB1186Z:Not to mention 1235, 122X series too.
Also, the newer Hispano 0405s are also given to KJ, like 828,829.
KJ also has a fleet of new Volgren Hinos.
The DAFs are NOT lousy buses, BTW, they are very suited for running some ulu svcs like 172 and 175.
Yishun is not considered a flagship area as Woodlands is.

Choa Chu Kang receives mainly the old buses, only the Habits are new. BTW, CCK does not have Volgren Hinos, except for Cameos. The CCK intratown 307 doesn't get good buses... Majority of the buses as said above are older
For Box MB0405:TIBS4xx-5xx
For Box Bendy: The earlier batch
For HINO: Only a few cameos
For Citaro: Only a few permanent(ard 20)mainly on 302
For Habits: Only 20% on 300 & 30%/40% on 190
Notice that i'm talking abt CCK, not KJDEP. I know that KJDEP gets good buses...but not many are in CCK. Most are in BB/BP
Tibs, for some reason, mistreat CCK except 190. Look @ the buses, mostly are the older batch...
Sorry if I sound harsh

Yes, same for much of Central District.Originally posted by BlessingSatan:Slightly off topic>But CCK can considered lucky compared to Boon Lay,Majority of its buses are 0405s,LOs which their ages are more than 10 years old!![]()

OK, that I have to agree on.Originally posted by freakybuses:O405s are considered better than DAFs
Well, look on the bright side. This means that Boon Lay will be getting new buses soon.Originally posted by BlessingSatan:Slightly off topic>But CCK can considered lucky compared to Boon Lay,Majority of its buses are 0405s,LOs which their ages are more than 10 years old!![]()

Well, I have to agree that CCK services has better frequency than other TIBS Int. That's partly because I complain a lot, so, they improved it. Haha.Originally posted by off_service:Just be happy with what you have. From my point of view, I would be rather happy to live in CCK with the buses they have. I would rather see this fleet in AMKDEP than the piping hot greeny squarish British buses. I am sure TIB1186Z will agree with me.
But well again, this is my point of view.
I notice that most CCK Int services have better frequency than those of other TIBS interchanges.
Jurong Ind Svcs acquire NAC DDs which may be scrapped soon...Originally posted by cck_190:Well, look on the bright side. This means that Boon Lay will be getting new buses soon.![]()

After hearing the word 'Just be happy with what you have'by Off Service, I felt bad. So, I made a simple study in CCK
Good points I found out:
>CCK services have better frequncy than other TIBS services
>CCK has 2 of TIBS most favourite services:190 & 67
>Better CCK Services such as 190,67,188 have better bus deployments than other TIBS int
Bad points I found out:
>Intratown 307 somehow does not det the respect it deserves...It does not have good buses
>CCK interchange not very well maintained by tibs. They also have
no service guide rack
>Some of Tibs hated service such as 175 & 985 is there
I hope you all don't think I'm pampered too much or anything. Now, I appreciate Tibs in CCK more after doing studies. I still do prefer SBS controlling CCK though.
Actually 300 & 302 is not so much a cash cow, it is not worth as much as 307, the main feeder service in choa chu kangOriginally posted by SBS9818A:CCK is actually quite a cash cow for TIBS, just look at Sv. 300, Sv. 302, Sv. 190, Sv. 67
300 has a very large passenger base. I'd say much higher than Sv. 307Originally posted by cck_190:Actually 300 & 302 is not so much a cash cow, it is not worth as much as 307, the main feeder service in choa chu kang

Service 300 has more passengers than service 238. The loads for service 300 Bendy Buses exceed 60 or 70% for almost any time of the day.Originally posted by service_238:compare me![]()

I'll have to agree with you on this one. But I still say 307 is the most important service in Choa Chu Kang. One reason for 300 having a high load is that Bt Panjang Govt High School is there. Many people go to that school. Another reason is that 300 travel in certain places where there are no alternative service for passengers to boardOriginally posted by off_service:Service 300 has more passengers than service 238.
