Why?Originally posted by freakybuses:then must well let svc 168 stay...
Correct, they were removed for NSL.Originally posted by iveco:Were 140 and 168 removed to make way for the NSL rationalisaton?
Also, where did 141 and 144 go?
All the Townlinks are merged services.Originally posted by freakybuses:What merger of bus services occured in these 31 years?
Sv. 989 was withdrawn, and Sv. 185 extended and renumbered.Originally posted by foxtrot1985:All the Townlinks are merged services.

985 is formed from a merge with some amendment.

Service 920 is not a merged service. This service was introduced about 4 months after the withdrawal of services 344 and 345.Originally posted by cck_190:Some specific ones...
Old 902 & 905: Now Intratown 912
Old 301 & 303: Now Intratown 307, last time Townlink 307
Old 185 & 989: Now Service 985
Old 344 & 345: Now Feeder 920
I mean merged as in one part is of 344's route and the other is of 345's routeOriginally posted by tranquilice:Service 920 is not a merged service. This service was introduced about 4 months after the withdrawal of services 344 and 345.
Believe Sv. 920 was introduced after an uproar by residents at Jelapang?Originally posted by tranquilice:Service 920 is not a merged service. This service was introduced about 4 months after the withdrawal of services 344 and 345.
144 (Toa Payoh - C'wealth Ave) was removed in 1983 or 84, which was just as well because there are 2 other services (147 and 14Originally posted by iveco:Were 140 and 168 removed to make way for the NSL rationalisaton?

I think SBS see that people taking 149 to Airport from Kallang/Bendemeer/Toa Payoh is very low. Hence they merge it with SBS31 to become SBST31. SBS16 covers the lost part as there's demand from Old Airport Rd to CGA. not forgetting the city area as wellOriginally posted by freakybuses:Then why was 149 removed? Low demand?
Ok, understood.Originally posted by cck_190:I mean merged as in one part is of 344's route and the other is of 345's route![]()
