Sentosa LRT

Sentosa LRT, currently named "Sentosa Express", is now ongoing. The pillars of the viaducts near the Sentosa ferry terminal have been constructed, following will be in other areas.
"Sentosa Express" will be elevated and will runs from HarbourFront MRT station to Palawan beach via the Sentosa causeway, taking a total of 6 minutes. According to source, it will have 3 stations in Sentosa, which are near the ferry terminal, near the Merlion and Palawan beach near Palawan monorail station.
You may have noticed that "Sentosa Express" will not cover most parts of Sentosa like the monorail. These places not covered by "Sentosa Express" will continue to be covered by existing internal bus services.
The line is expected to complete by April 2006 and will fully replace the Sentosa monorail. -
As much as I welcome the construction of the Sentosa Express, I would also be very sad to see the Sentosa Monorail go. Instead I would prefer if SDC upgrade the existing system in par with today's technology.

At first I thought they would upgrade the current monorail system into something like that of Jurong Bird Park (which is aircondition). The current monorail system is one "cannot be missed" attraction on Sentosa now which will be missed by us. -

the present monorail is free once u on the island.. think the new LRT is ticket based.. and pay...

Closing down of Sentosa monorail would be pretty sad. It had already become part of sentosa, one of the attractions. Tourist can even take the monorail just for the sake of sight-seeing around the whole loop. They really should just keep it running.
They're building a Fort Siloso station, when will that be opened? And if they are closing the monorail in 2006, why still build another station at Fort Siloso? I don't understand what they're thinking of. -

Fort Siloso monorail station has already been closed, tram service between Fort Siloso and Underwater World has been terminated. People going to Fort Siloso now has to walk there from Underwater World. -

Now Sentosa wasn't as fun as it was in 1990s... whereby got fantasy island... missed that so much. Last went there was 2001 for a 3D2N camp... the place become campsite... with AC dorms.
