  As for the return Jurong - Tampines, which is the fastest route of these two? Or any faster suggestions?

  Sv. 105 route may seem long but its only 1h 10 mins or so from Jurong East - S'goon. AFAIK, Scotts Rd (Far East Plaza) - Holland Village is 15 mins.

  Commonwealth Ave (Blk 43) - Lorong 2 Toa Payoh = 29 min 40 sec on a weekday mid-afternoon

  Service 23 to Bendemeer Rd, walk to Serangoon Rd, service 985 to Bukit Batok Central, service 176 to Jurong East Central.

  er...lets see. the best way to shoot out of tampz is on 23. so i say take mr 23 out to serangoon road there and get off. transfer to 133 or 857. go to suntec and hit some 97. (best way i think)
  
  or maybe one could go by
  
  take 23 out. transfer to 966 go to CJC. transfer to 985. go to Bt Timah. pong 66.
  
  time may be wasted on transfers.
  
  3rd way:
  take 67 to eunos cross road. pong 93. go to queensway . sit 105
  
  that follows MRt roughly.

  leejz: I would advice you to go to jurong east first then bt merah. My planned route for you would be this.
  
  Tampines - Jurong East
  23 to Bendemeer Rd. Walk to Serangoon Rd or take 26/61/107/853 from the Blk 54 bus stop.
  985 to Bt Batok Central
  66/176 to Jurong East Central/Int.
  
  Jurong East - Bt Merah
  197 to Jln Bt Merah. Walk to BTM Int
  
  Journey Time for this should be abt 30 mins.
  
  Bt Merah - Tampines
  131 from BTM or 145 from Henderson Rd. Go to HBF.
  30 to BDK.
  17/18/28/31/67/69 from either BDK MRT or BDK to Tampines... (wherever you live)
  
  Journey Time for this should be 8/15 min (depending on 131 or 145), 30 min, 15 min. Total spent at least 53 min on BTM - TAM.

  You can take Sv. 198 from just outside Jurong East Int.

  Walking from Jln Bukit Merah -> Bukit Merah Int is closer than walking from Jurong East Int -> Jurong Town Hall Rd.

  Just walk out to Commonwealth Ave West. Noone asked you to walk to JT Hall Rd.

  Ermm, you want to walk all the way to Commonwealth MRT? Sv 198 only plies that part of C'wealth Ave West.

  The ROAD just OUTSIDE Jurong East INt, where only Sv. 502 and Sv. 198 ply. The road Sv. 98 TURNS to when it exits JE Int.

  Huh? The route of 198 only meets the route of 98 after the junction of Jurong Town Hall Road and Jurong East Avenue 1. 198 does not go along Boon Lay Way when 98 turns out to after it exits Jurong East Interchange.

  Uhm, are we having a slight miscommunication here?
  
  Are you mistaken about the service number because I swear that 198 does not hit Boon Lay Way at all except at the last part of its route near Boon Lay Interchange? Which part of Clementi are you referring to?
  
  When it exits AYE, it goes via Jurong Town Hall Road until the junction at Jurong East Ave 1, near Parc Oasis and then it continues until Jurong West Ave 1.

  U are thinking of 99 - the only direct bus from Clementi to Jurong East.
