Its only Mk4 DMs, VSOs and a couple of Mk5s. Bishan gets VSOs too! while the rest are Merz and Scanias....Originally posted by SBS9818A:St Michaels gets lots of new buses.
I have planned CBS32 (which is SBST10) to ply inside Kent Ridge Dr before terminating at Kent Ridge Terminal. Watch out for more on my Tampines Bus Plan in http://buses.sgforums.com/?action=thread_display&thread_id=69437&page=13Originally posted by leeJZ:Could they have made Sv 10 do the following?
Current Route - West Coast Rd - Clementi Ave 2 - C'wealth Ave West - Clementi Int? Or since Sv 188 is now with TIBS couldnt they reroute Sv 10 again?
Yes, SBST did treat CCK well.Originally posted by cck_190:look on the bright side...SBS gave 1 town inconvenience for the enjoyment of 2 towns![]()
See how good they are to CCK back then...
I feedback this route to SBST before but was rejected. Seems like service 10 will remain in Kent Ridge for the years to come.Originally posted by leeJZ:Could they have made Sv 10 do the following?

Can CBS32 terminate at Clementi?Originally posted by service_238:I have planned CBS32 (which is SBST10) to ply inside Kent Ridge Dr before terminating at Kent Ridge Terminal. Watch out for more on my Tampines Bus Plan in http://buses.sgforums.com/?action=thread_display&thread_id=69437&page=13
It came to my mind this afternoon of my CBS32 to terminate at clementi. But for now... its kent ridge because CBS' JEDEP isnt built yet. JEDEP (Jurong East Depot) is located at Toh Guan Rd East.Originally posted by tranquilice:Can CBS32 terminate at Clementi?![]()
Not build yet? So slow.Originally posted by service_238:It came to my mind this afternoon of my CBS32 to terminate at clementi. But for now... its kent ridge because CBS' JEDEP isnt built yet. Clementi too small la.Originally posted by tranquilice:Can CBS32 terminate at Clementi?![]()
Must, must agree with you on that.Originally posted by tranquilice:Yes, SBST did treat CCK well.![]()
CCK interchange is definately not designed by SBS.Originally posted by cck_190:Must, must agree with you on that.
CCK got the second townlink service
CCK was fortunate to have 190 extended there
CCK had quite good buses
CCK Interchange's design is quite nice, designed by SBS???
Would you say that CCK has the same treatment from tibs as it had from SBS?
The architect who designed interchanges is quite good.Originally posted by tranquilice:CCK interchange is definately not designed by SBS.
As for treatment, different people have different views.![]()
Many interchanges designed around the same timeframe look similar. Case in point, Bishan, S'goon, BB, CCK, etc.Originally posted by cck_190:The architect who designed interchanges is quite good.
What I mean is that you can tell whether an interchange belongs to SBS or TIBS. The architect for SBS ints at that time gave SBS ints a sort of cultural and classic look. Tampinese, Pasir Ris & CCK int almost look the same in terms of the designs![]()
But Tibs interchanges built during that time: Only Yishun And Old Woodland Int have a more economical look while SBS ints have a more contemporary look...a few only such as CCK, Tam, Bishan & Pasir Ris. BB int have a more economical look.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Many interchanges designed around the same timeframe look similar. Case in point, Bishan, S'goon, BB, CCK, etc.
Erm then can anyone explain the case for Sengkang when it is actually built later than Toa Payoh?Originally posted by SBS9818A:Many interchanges designed around the same timeframe look similar. Case in point, Bishan, S'goon, BB, CCK, etc.
Sengkang was integrated with the SEK Central Town Plan. In any case ask the town planners for SEK central.Originally posted by foxtrot1985:Erm then can anyone explain the case for Sengkang when it is actually built later than Toa Payoh?
Air-con interchanges are in a class of their own!Originally posted by foxtrot1985:Erm then can anyone explain the case for Sengkang when it is actually built later than Toa Payoh?
The pioneer of these designs was the dead AMK Int...Originally posted by SBS9818A:Many interchanges designed around the same timeframe look similar. Case in point, Bishan, S'goon, BB, CCK, etc.
dont forget SBST27 at CGA height restrictionOriginally posted by leeJZ:Toa Payoh folks are lucky. They get the best interchange in the whole of SingaporeExcellent design plus aircon. Maybe they should build a TPY Int replica to replace those small plus bendy/DD-incapable basements at the airport?
Back to the topic, Sv 83 must be generating a lot of cash. Any Sv 83 bus I spotted, capacity ranged from 70% up to about 90%. Sv 27 must be another cashcow...probably SBS would rather put the Tridents on it than on Sv 89, demand to Tampines is stronger than to Pasir Ris from Hougang/Sengkang.

Service 27 used to terminate at Tampines...Originally posted by leeJZ:I know there are height restrictions at the airport.
Sv 24 is another cashcow, many standing pax from Bedok Stn all the way to the outskirts of Ang Mo Kio...demand is high so they need to dispatch many, my bus was in the middle of three bunched up Sv 24 O405s.
Maybe they should ammend Sv 24 to terminate at Pasir Ris via Upp Changi Rd North, Old Tampines Rd, New Loyang Link & Pasir Ris Dr 3 and perhaps Sv 27 can terminate at Tampines. New services can be introduced to cover the loss of the two services.
