I have noticed that most buses have crooked steering wheels. What do i mean? As in, when the bus is moving straight, the steering wheel is turned to one side and not facing straight. Doesn't this sort of like comfuse the drivers? I seriously am worried they might get so confused as to the direction that they get into an accident.
Having been a driver-mechanic in the army before, I have come across such situations.
Basically, the steering wheel is misaligned because of a few situations. The simplest situation is that the steering wheel was not held when alignment of front wheels is being done. This causes the steering to become totally misaligned.
A good driver will not look at the steering wheel when driving. Instead, a good driver will use his vision and sensory skills to determine the direction of the vehicle is heading. On the other hand, if a driver keeps looking at the steering wheel while driving, won't it make him more prone to accidents since he is not concentrating on the road situations instead?
