Currently, CCK int lies @ the center of Choa Chu Kang, which is quite unstrategic if you ask me...Why?
My view is.. if you were in charge of managing the land transport system, Singapore would be in disarray.
The town of Choa Chu Kang has expanded towards the North & currently, only 2 services serve CCK north-:302&307. CCK north is kind like a countryside which is not so lively partly because it does not have any trunk service except NR3- which is quite useless.
Therefore, I have come to a conclusion that Choa Chu Kang Interchange should be relocated to the open space beside Yew Tee MRT.
Another idea is that NR3 should be converted into a normal Trunk Service.
WHAT ARE YOUR VIEWS ON THIS?
It would totally be senseless and blatantly stupid to move Choa Chu Kang interchange to open space in Yew Tee MRT.
Why?
1. CCK vs Yew Tee.. CCK's central area has a larger population as compared to Yew Tee.
2. Yew Tee is next to Kranji. Kranji, has no flats. Therefore, a linkage there would be useless.
3. CCK is close to Bukit Batok, Gombak etc..therefore, it would make better sense to place an interchange in CCK. Better links to other town areas.
4. CCK is closer to expressways too.
5. More schools around CCK area. Some routes taken by 302 into the Yew Tee area does not bring in much revenue to the bus company.
6. Moving the interchange to CCK would piss me off..as well as many other CCK people.
7. Why dont u at least suggest something much more feasible, like.. probably, an LRT system going into all these remote CCK North areas?

I can confirm that there are barricades along the centre divider. Anyway, the road's too wide (and dangerous) for a car to do a right turn without traffic lights. If a driver wishes to turn right, he has to turn left into Queensway then do a U-turn at the Holland Road-Farrer Road junction.

Sorry for wrong information, perhaps the barricades were up only recently due to the construction of Commonwealth/Queensway interchange and the completion of Queenway/Farrer tunnel. The barricades have been there for quite a while!
