In case you didn't realise 2-axle Tridents in the UK also use the Cummins ISC engines.Originally posted by TIB1186Z:Depends. Both companies have their own share of comfortable and uncomfortable buses.
For example, Hispano 0405s are good for long haul on TIBS, i once took a 1.5hr ride on TIB971E on 963 from end to end and ended up with a very sore butt at the end due to the seats. For SBST, VO3Axs and Mk5s are made for sleeping, esp the mk5s, many of them are much more queiter when travelling at high speeds compared to TIBS 0405s.
For long haul, i will definitely avoid lances to keep myself sane, as they have very violent and sharp gear changes, and quite a few retatrders are not even working ( imagine hearing ping pianging of the handles knocking against the poles whenever it hits a bump for 1hr ). For the malaysian lances, the suspension needs improvement, and the UK lance badly requires a holiday in Antartica to cool itself down. While it might be true that the Cummins engine are very reliable, they are meant for utilitarian vehicles in the first place, not for city buses.
Wrong, the ELBOs are having the same fabric but different brand of seats,. While TIBS buses from 1147L onwards are all using the new new Volgelsitze seats. and TIB 890E is the only TIBS bus with high-back seats. You also forgot the UD's which are using the old seats.Originally posted by leeJZ:Best TIBS bus seats include the Hino/Mercedes Volgrens (Nice green leather seats) and the Habits (not bad)...the rest of the fleet have the same type of seats as the O405s I think...
As for SBS, best are the VSO & Trident seats, the other seats are all the same...
VSO's seats are hard like rock, it is worse than the Tridents because they are slightly high-backOriginally posted by leeJZ:Best TIBS bus seats include the Hino/Mercedes Volgrens (Nice green leather seats) and the Habits (not bad)...the rest of the fleet have the same type of seats as the O405s I think...

Many buses in Singapore are using Cummins, the likable-Tridents, Darts, LO3xs, and even one of the alreadly gone LO2x is using Cummins. In Hong Kong, many of the newer buses are also having Cummins engines.Originally posted by TIB1186Z:Depends. Both companies have their own share of comfortable and uncomfortable buses.

Those leather seats trap heat on those rear radiator buses. (all of the buses using Leather seats are rear-radiator buses)Originally posted by leeJZ:Best TIBS bus seats include the Hino/Mercedes Volgrens (Nice green leather seats) and the Habits (not bad)...the rest of the fleet have the same type of seats as the O405s I think...

Not necessary, O405s have radiators at the rear and use fabric.Originally posted by Scania:Those leather seats trap heat on those rear radiator buses. (all of the buses using Leather seats are rear-radiator buses)
