I'm a bus fan, i think some of you would share the same experience too.
How come when we tell somebody that we are bus fans/bus spotters, they will laugh?
They say that our hobby is weird?!?

Some people regard as low-class and they dont find anything special in liking buses.
However, one plus point about us is that we're mobile bus guides. If anyone dont know how to get to a particular place, we're their answer. -

I think this people should learn more about buses and how they operate. All they do is complain, complain, and complain about the frequency and blabla bla. Theres more to buses than all this. I'm glad I don't belong to those group of people

To me, I would not consider my or should I say our hobby a weird one. My friends who have supported me all this while have come up with a better term to describe our hobby - Unique. And boy do I agree with them!
Some of my friends do make fun of me just because I have a passion for buses. Soon, as they matures they realise that what I was doing is totally harmless and I'm just like any other person who has a unique hobby.
As long as I don't get too obsessed with my hobby, I should be fine with my friends. However I would avoid those who still make fun of me.

I've been mocked by many of my friends, even now. There are some who respected me and my unique passion for buses.
I do believe people have this "stereotype" thinking that buses are "cheap", true, most affordable mode of public transport in Singapore, but the buses certainly do not come in cheap. Also can't understand why people can have weird hobbies of rearing insects or stuffs, but we can't like buses?
But again, if they don't respect me or my hobby, I still say the most respectable persons they should respect are the bus captains (SBST) and service captains (TIBS). Without them we ain't going anywhere else.
This situation would be completely different if we are in Hong Kong or London. -

Those childish pple... I used to draw buses in my primary classroom when we had free periods, then everyone was like, "Hey, why do u like buses so much? They are so lame." I think these pple are lame, because they take buses themselves!!!!!

anyway on a serious note, we belong to the same category as those who collect star wars stuff or other things -- we're unique. who cares what other people think? we're not into illegal stuff. and we get to appreciate the public transport system in greater detail... at least we won't get lost in singapore

Well... I'm a female bus fan, and whenever I tell anyone that I love buses, bus spotting, collecting bus guides, observing buses, discuss about bus services, buses... People will think I'm mad. How come I'm not a fan of say, modern Chinese pop and rock groups, but buses? I suppose having a passion for buses could be anyone's hobby, not restricting to males only.
To state the fact, I really have a passion for buses. I tend to turn around and look at the buses that passes by me, especially Tibs ones, because I love Tibs Mercedes buses. I do collect bus guides, even have Transitlink Guides way back to 1994, and do have them for light reading even until now. -

Well... Seriously, I cannot agree more with you about the bus and service captains cos they deserve bus fans' deepest salute and respect. Least we treasure and appreciate our unique passion for buses -
