Is it necessary for TIBS to purchased a few Midi buses?

Especially for services like 825(Don't justify for a 12m buses),925C,926 etc..?

They can use their subsidiary Bus Plus Toyotas and Mitsubishi Rosa if they want
825 had a nissan civilian fitted with electrical engihnes b4, but was withdrawn from svc in '99 and gone in 2000. Guess its too uneconomical to operate that bus. -
Sv. 825 has quite a high passenger load during peak hours.

Boring man,That Toyotas and Mitsubishis does only have 1 doors,So cramped somemore.Optare are better as they had a Mercedes Benz chassis and engine.Anyway just my suggestions only.

I've seen a new model of the Toyota midibus which can carry approximately ±30 pax. The bus is considerably bigger than the normal 20-seater. Still fitted with a single door, it is bigger and placed ahead of the front axle, unlike the normal 20-seater where the door is located after the front axle. I can safely say that the new bus is the Dart of the Orient.

In my opinion midi buses are pointless. Services like Sv. 42 and Sv. 92 can cope well with 12m buses. No major manouverability problems whatsoever.

You mean the CAC Soon Chow bus I took a pic of recently? That bus isn't ex-SBS, although the body could have been ex-SBS. My uncle, being a school bus driver, used to OWN a Mercedes OF1417 with soon chow body. Our relatives usually took that bus to the CCK cemetery for qing ming....we parked in the LCK road and walk in. Best man, that bus.....but then my uncle find it too old then go scrap it, also got no aircon, very hot. I still think that dennis darts with hispano is good. Looks good, i can imagine....with a voith D863.3 and Cummins 6BT engine...perfect!

Please, bus companies strive for commonality in types to lower maintainance costs. Even SBST have probs with their Darts, and the main reason for buying them in the first place is due to the routes. There is a bit of connection for 33 due to the joo chiat roads, and 284 due to the U-turn. Expect more on BB svcs, as i said, its a tradition for both companies to parade buses before they go off so it may be a probable reason.
