All these services are partly/fully controlled by BBDEP.Originally posted by BlessingSatan:Any specific reasons,First 33,Then 285,284,And latest is on 198
Do you think that it will go to other Interchanges too?
Oh no! As true as this might seems I wish it wasn't! I like the Darts. Maintenance problems, it seemed, is the main culprit. A good example is the Darts in JB. There used to be a good number of them around last time but now they are nowhere to be seen. Pity SBST with huge wads of cash in its coffers is also having difficulty with the Darts.Originally posted by TIB1186Z:Another very pausible reason is that the Dart will be going off soon.
Reliable, anoymous sources inside BBDEP indicate that SBST is having some trouble maintaining the Darts as they are difficult to service, as well as the small fleet size.
If it's true that they will be withdrawn soon,I would,nt mind if they replaced it with Volvo B6L/B7L 9.5m versionsOriginally posted by The_Bus_Guide:Oh no! B6 line of chassis is no longer in production I think.Originally posted by BlessingSatan:If it's true that they will be withdrawn soon,I would,nt mind if they replaced it with Volvo B6L/B7L 9.5m versions![]()
More like the reliance on Volvo. After the O405s are gone SBST will be full-Volvo. Even the LO3X were produced under Volvo Bus supervision.Originally posted by iveco:I remember reading on another thread about Lances being pulled out. I wonder why the bus operators have this thing about Dennis (and to a lesser extent, Scania) buses.
The Lances are all right as far as I am concerned. As for the Tridents, they are state of the art.
The 35-seater Darts may not be profitable, but subway operators in the Klang Valley are using them to serve the neighbourhoods around the stations. There can be some profits reaped from the sale of the Darts to our Malaysian counterparts.
Maybe the reliance on MBs and Volvos is to blame for this attitude.
Triton uses the Lances. They are exactly the same as those deployed on the Tekong shuttle. The Darts are managed by SPNB (master operator of the Klang Valley's subway system).Originally posted by BlessingSatan:[
Haha,Triton operates the service with all Darts with Duple Metsec body but with square headlights right?
Thought i did saw Triton's Darts in KLOriginally posted by iveco:Triton uses the Lances. They are exactly the same as those deployed on the Tekong shuttle. The Darts are managed by SPNB (master operator of the Klang Valley's subway system).
The O405s I am speaking about are the box Hispanos managed by Tibs.Originally posted by SBS9818A:More like the reliance on Volvo. After the O405s are gone SBST will be full-Volvo. Even the LO3X were produced under Volvo Bus supervision.
Singapore would be a very boring place then!Originally posted by SBS9845X:I hope to have a full Volvo fleet for SBST.
It has been 14 years since SBST bought in MBs...Originally posted by SBS9818A:Singapore would be a very boring place then!
Nope, only 12.Originally posted by freakybuses:It has been 14 years since SBST bought in MBs...
The earliest batch of MBs came in 1990. They are the WA aircon MBs.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Nope, only 12.
Ohh, i rather see SBST full volvo fleet then scanias and LOs around.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Singapore would be a very boring place then!
That's your uneducated opinion. Diverse fleet makes for more variety and choice.Originally posted by Airbus330Captain:Ohh, i rather see SBST full volvo fleet then scanias and LOs around.
Than you must hope for a full MB fleet for (the bus operator soon to be formerly called) Tibs.Originally posted by SBS9845X:I hope to have a full Volvo fleet for SBST.
i also saw Triton use Dennis Darts for its 50sen shuttle service running between KL Sentral, Bangsar LRT & Mid Valley Megamall. and Darts on other Triton services too. as for Lances on Triton i didn't see any in Malaysia.Originally posted by iveco:Triton uses the Lances.
