Like 857 & 965, the postbox was placed on the bus for passengers to throw in their feedback about the bus service when the bus service was just introduced. After a few months, they will take the postbox off the bus.Originally posted by bus911:I remember 2or3 yrs ago I saw a postbox on a TIBS bus , what happened to it?

Wasn't it for Class 95FM? I remember 2888T being fitted with a pioneer TVMobile set, it was removed but speakers are still there.Originally posted by TIB1186Z:Anyone noticed that some of the OAC and CAC boxes are fitted with pioneer speakers?
They are actually deployed on svc 167 in 1997-98. They are used for route announcements ie "Next stop Sembawang Road End Terminal. All passengers please alight. Thank you for travelling with TIBS. Xie4 xie4 cheng2 da1 ba1 da2 ba1 shi4. " , or " Next stop Blk 5 Sembawang Rd "
I still have very fond memories of it as i was quite shocked then when i heard it. Too bad i was in primary school then, so that was the only time i heard it. The bus stops were not announced when the bus do not stop, so i guess its driver activated.
Also, i boarded a 133 MB0405 DM once in 2002 and it had a plasma cluster ad , and a plasma cluster by Sharp fitted inside the bus., as well as those postcards like the "nose hole".
No, the speakers are originallu used for the abovemetioned speakers. The joinup with class 95 came later, and used these speakers.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Wasn't it for Class 95FM? I remember 2888T being fitted with a pioneer TVMobile set, it was removed but speakers are still there.
