Me, I, and Serangoon

Hmm.. it's been quite a long time that I've not been posting any topics over here...
Well, I wonder how many peeps know about this little town named Serangoon, a NE Town in Singapore.
Now... How many buses services are available in Serangoon Area?
In terms of Interchange, there are Sv 81, 82, 101, 103, 105, 158, 315, 317.
How about passing by services? Sv 22, 24, 25, 53, 55, 70, 73, 74, 76, 107, 132, 133, 135, 136, 147, 153, 156, 159, 165, and 853.
These number of passing by services is an accumulation of Serangoon Central and Serangoon North. However, according to my 'base', ie Serangoon Central, I don't think there might be lotsa services here. Connecting from here to town needs at least 2 svcs for me to reach there.
Although there is NEL for me, it requires me to walk for at least 5-7 mins to reach there. I do really find it hassle to do so, especially the construction of the NEL requires me to en route
Also, taking the NEL does make my ez-link 'pop' and a few bucks gone. That is why I would always make full use of my Monthly Concession Pass to take as many buses as possible. -
There's bus 158 at the Serangoon Interchange too...

nah, i just happen to be at Serangoon once every week
That interchange seems to be kinda under-utilized, cos I see quite a few empty bus.... argh for a moment I can't remember that word, quite a few you know, those areas buses park before they go on another journey out.. think it starts with letter A...
And then everytime I have to wait for so long before the buses I want to take come.

I know about this town. Always pass by here on my way home from Pasir Ris last time. Now no more... unless I'm there doing official business (i.e guide hunting)

For passing by services, you fogot service 854. It plys Yio Chu Kang Rd close to Serangoon North.

If I can remember, there was once a service 318 plying there towards S'goon Gdns. btw, does 318 have the same route as the current 317(ex-217)?

SBS Service 72 used to ply between Serangoon and Tanjiong Rhu -

318 route as follows,
Serangoon Int, Serangoon Central, Boundary Rd, Lor Chuan, Serangoon Garden Way, Lor chuan, Boundary Road, Serangoon Central, Serangoon Int
Subsequently merge with 315.
317 route (ex 217) as follows,
Serangoon Int, Serangoon Central, Yio Chu Kang Link, Yio Chu Kang Rd, Serangoon Garden Way, Chartwell Dr, Burghley Dr, Berwick Drive, Tavistock Ave, Hemsley Ave, Kensington Park Rd, Serangoon Garden Way, Yio Chu Kang Rd, Yio Chu Kang Link, Serangoon Central, Serangoon Int
It was later amended to ply along Upper Serangoon Road, Boundary Rd, Yio Chu Kang Link and the rest remain the same. -
Very good! You could remember all these! I used to remember that 315 and Sv 217 used old Mercedes Benz OF series buses, and also a small amount of Leyland Victory. Regarding Sv 318, not much memory though. Was still around the age of 3-5 leh. I was so young then, how to remember these stuffs?Originally posted by thots:the routes were different.

Serangoon is one of my other home bases. Interestingly I only first visited it last yr!

when i first move to serangoon, there wasnt any serangoon central or interchange. have to walk all the way to upper serangoon rd or boundary rd to take bus.

Ah yes... That's true. My mum told me that when they moved in Serangoon with me (when I was just barely a 5 month old baby), there weren't any interchange. There was a bus terminus at Serangoon Garden. Services from that terminal were re-located when Serangoon Interchange was completed.
