Rumah Tinggi is too small for a DD? Anyone confirm?Originally posted by gynobcard:deserve but do not have:
1. svc 63 (dunno why it doesn't have)
2. svc 95 (problem with the hilly roads in NUS)
3. svc 96 (same reason as svc 95)
Hmm,Good question.Frankly 63 should use DDs if not for the trees along Lengkok Bahru,Hoy Fatt Rd and Rumah Tinggi.I noticed that some of the trees branches are quite low,So if NEA do something about this maybe we could see a Trident deployed on this service tooOriginally posted by off_service:Rumah Tinggi is too small for a DD? A double-decker has a higher Centre of Gravity than a single-decker, which means that the double-decker is more prone to instability and overturning as compared to a single-decker. That is why double-deckers cannot be deployed on 95. The left bend at Lower Kent Ridge Road and Kent Ridge Crescent is too acute for a driver to safely turn left. Furthermore, it is an upslope left turn.Originally posted by BlessingSatan:About the twisty roads if a 12m single decks can easily manourver i don't see why 12m DDs can't.

Yeah probably.Originally posted by SBS9818A:2828S is still around. Looks like the DM3500s are leaving Sv. 39 after the six-month show-off period huh?
Service 851 is an alternative to service 63 between Tiong Bahru and Bugis. And service 851 uses bendy, so it does snatch away some pax along this stretch of the route.Originally posted by gynobcard:deserve but do not have:

There're 4 81 Striders:Originally posted by leeJZ:They should snatch those DM3500s off Sv 81 also and dump more Striders in...theres currently only two Striders on it (2682 U & 2621 X) and much more DM3500s, the DM3500s should be put on highway services while Sv 81 only plies TPE for few minutes, so maybe Sv 3, 23, 30, 36?
Speaking of which i heard that SBS 2831 G got a new ad and has flown over to 15.Originally posted by leeJZ:For some reason the Mk4 DM3500s of Sv 39 are disappearing. Recently I've only seen 2832, 2829, 2819, and 2818. Theres been an influx of Mk3s & Mk4 DMs.
Can you remember the rego of the Sv 15 bus that had the "Way Way" advert a few months back? Was it SBS2766L? It has got a new black Canon advert now.Originally posted by service_238:Speaking of which i heard that SBS 2831 G got a new ad and has flown over to 15.
SBS 2833B, now on Sv. 36 with a China Tourism ad (original Sv. 36? Not sure)Originally posted by service_238:Speaking of which i heard that SBS 2831 G got a new ad and has flown over to 15.

A rule of thumb:Originally posted by service_238:Good argument you got there
I've personally seen a packed upper deck on 89 before during the morning and evening peaks. (i've said this before)
If only those 39 Mk5s STOP avoiding me.......
Thanks for the info.Originally posted by TIB1186Z:A rule of thumb:
For buses leaving Yishun Int:
Odd Hours: Mk3s
Even Hours: Mk5s.
Typically, the mk5s will start arriving and departing from the half-hour of every even hour.
However, this might be subject to change, and works best in the morning.
OK now I know when to hit Yishun.Originally posted by TIB1186Z:A rule of thumb:

Sv. 55 does need one or two more DDs. Sv. 156 can actually use DDs but thanks to "low-lying trees at Sixth Avenue" it can't. Don't want to deploy just say don't want to deploy lah.Originally posted by gohby:I think 53 and 156 shd truly deserve DDs. 55 shd have more dds.
I also thought about it for svc 24A in earlier post for DDs.... but come to it... DDs specially dedicated for shortworking trips whose main routes can't use at all? perm DD on a shortworking route whereby the main route cannot use?Originally posted by gohby:but too bad lar 53 and 156 cant use dds. so i recommend a shortworking trips for 53&156 which uses DDs
It's normally the other way round. Rare to find DDs on a SWT where the full route only utilizes single-decks.Originally posted by freakybuses:I also thought about it for svc 24A in earlier post for DDs.... but come to it... is there even such a service?Originally posted by SBS9818A:It's normally the other way round. Rare to find DDs on a SWT where the full route only utilizes single-decks.
There's no such service doing that. Apparantly it isnt rare, its because the fact whereby DDs on SWTs and non-DDs on full routes doesnt even exist.Originally posted by gohby:is there even such a service?![]()
Of course not. Even the defunct Sv. 14A used DDs.Originally posted by service_238:There's no such service doing that. Apparantly it isnt rare, its because the fact whereby DDs on SWTs and non-DDs on full routes doesnt even exist.
Not suprised as probably show-off period is over.Originally posted by S K:ya lar i want them back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
