As to what i see, SBST regards public holidays above all other days.Originally posted by tranquilice:Currently, service 401 operating hours on public holidays is from 10am to 8pm.
If a public holiday falls on a Saturday and/or Sunday, is it feasible to extend the operating hours till 10pm?
Take for example yesterday (01 May Labour Day), the last bus departed Bedok interchange at 8pm instead of the usual 10pm on Saturdays. This may cause inconvenience to those going to and fro East Coast Park after the last bus.
Meaning in the sense of?Originally posted by service_238:As to what i see, SBST regards public holidays above all other days.
ok take for example. Sat was labour day, a public holiday. hence, buses run on 'Sunday and Public Holiday' schedule despite that day being a saturday. Get it?Originally posted by tranquilice:Meaning in the sense of?
If a PH falls on say, Mon - Fri, it will use Sunday schedule.Originally posted by tranquilice:Meaning in the sense of?
I got what you mean. I understand that buses will operate on Sundays and public holidays schedule on public holidays.Originally posted by service_238:ok take for example. It might be feasible considering that many families love to go to ECP on a public holiday. The question is whether they go back after 8pm or not is another case. I'm not sure of the demand on Labour Day so i cant guarantee.Originally posted by tranquilice:I got what you mean. In the case of service 401, the operating hours on Saturdays is from 2pm to 10pm while on Sundays and public holidays is from 10am to 8pm.
So on last Saturday (01 May), the Sundays and public holidays schedule instead of the Saturday schedule is applied. This means that the last bus from Bedok interchange departed at 8pm instead of 10pm. My question is, is it feasible to extend the last bus departure time from 8pm to 10pm on public holidays which falls on Saturdays and Sundays, I believe there's still people going to and fro East Coast park after the last bus at 8pm.
Since the last bus on Saturdays is at 10pm, the last bus on public holidays which fall on Saturdays and Sundays should be 10pm too.Originally posted by service_238:It might be feasible considering that many families love to go to ECP on a public holiday. Edited suggestions:Originally posted by tranquilice:Since the last bus on Saturdays is at 10pm, the last time on public holidays which fall on Saturdays and Sundays should be 10pm too.
This is my suggestion:
Saturday: 2pm to 10pm
Sunday: 10am to 8pm
Public Holiday which falls on a weekday: 10am to 8pm
Public Holiday which falls on a Saturday and/or Sunday: 10am to 10pm
I am just using Labour Day as an example.

I welcome your edited suggestion, however I don't think there is enough demand on weekdays.Originally posted by freakybuses:Edited suggestions:
Saturdays, Sundays and P.Hs: 8.30am - 11pm
There may be a weekday demand from Bedok/Geylang/East Coast - Orchard... so maybe 2pm - 10pm
Meaning that public holiday schedule will follow Saturday schedule, no matter what? Then what about Chinese New Year period then? Hardly anyone would be at East Coast Park.Originally posted by tranquilice:I got what you mean. I understand that buses will operate on Sundays and public holidays schedule on public holidays.

So you want to merge Sat and Sun schedule together for PHs?Originally posted by tranquilice:From my earlier post
This is my suggestion:
Saturday: 2pm to 10pm
Sunday: 10am to 8pm
Public Holiday which falls on a weekday: 10am to 8pm
Public Holiday which falls on a Saturday and/or Sunday: 10am to 10pm
I have indicated very clearly in my previous post.Originally posted by SBS9818A:So you want to merge Sat and Sun schedule together for PHs?
For me I'd like Saturday and Sunday to be full-day service. Same for PH.Originally posted by tranquilice:I have indicated very clearly in my previous post.![]()
Hope frequency can be shortened too.Originally posted by SBS9818A:For me I'd like Saturday and Sunday to be full-day service. Same for PH.
11pm for weekdays (non school holidays) sounds too late.Originally posted by off_service:I hope that sv 401 could operate using the following schedule:
Weekdays (non school holidays): 5pm - 11pm
Weekdays (school holidays) & Weekends: 10am - 11pm
Public Holidays: 7am - 11pm
** Note **
The school holidays refer to the scheduled June / December holidays for MOE schools.
Weekends refer to Saturdays and Sundays excluding Public Holidays.
but just nice on thurs, fri.Originally posted by tranquilice:11pm for weekdays (non school holidays) sounds too late.
IMO, recreational services like Sv. 401 and Sv. 354 have very messy timetabling. It's hard to strike a balance, really.Originally posted by off_service:I hope that sv 401 could operate using the following schedule:

How about services 400 and 403?Originally posted by SBS9818A:IMO, recreational services like Sv. 401 and Sv. 354 have very messy timetabling. It's hard to strike a balance, really.
403 is rather balanced... not sure about 400 as I always take without others on board... maybe slight unbalance...Originally posted by tranquilice:How about services 400 and 403?
