Sv 151 has a fair amount of Mk4 DM3500s though.Originally posted by foxtrot1985:154 doesn't go to NUS... Anyway 151 deserves better buses. They seem to have more non-A/C buses than A/C ones.
The Mk4s that 151 have are Striders, not DM3500Originally posted by leeJZ:Sv 151 has a fair amount of Mk4 DM3500s though.
Really, those Mk2s should be deployed on JIS services and maybe some of the Benzes there or maybe a few Mk4s can be rotated back to the east![]()
portsdown prison is also there. quite true. SBST has no other single deck non AC buses except the scanias and the MK2s.Originally posted by delonchew:The army guys on 191 are not only from Portsdown Camp. There is still Ayer Rajah Camp further inside. Furthermore, 191 is a NAC service. What other buses do you expect SBST to put on this service?
I remember Sv. 151 using DM3500s before.Originally posted by service_238:The Mk4s that 151 have are Striders, not DM3500
I am not sure if those were cameos, like when I saw SBS2836T on 151.Originally posted by SBS9818A:I remember Sv. 151 using DM3500s before.
2836T is a perm Sv. 161 bus.Originally posted by delonchew:I am not sure if those were cameos, like when I saw SBS2836T on 151.
Yeah, I know. That's why I was giving an example of a DM3500 doing a cameo on 151 and I am not sure if those DM3500 were similar cases to what I saw.Originally posted by SBS9818A:2836T is a perm Sv. 161 bus.
Not sure, but I've seen DM3500s on Sv. 151 quite a number of times.Originally posted by delonchew:Yeah, I know. That's why I was giving an example of a DM3500 doing a cameo on 151 and I am not sure if those DM3500 were similar cases to what I saw.
I believe TIBS are monitoring the bus timings and loads for both services 962 / 962A. They may decrease the buses of 962A and shorten the headway of 962.Originally posted by bus911:How do u find 962. in the morning there are many 962A(meant 4 RiversideSec b'cos sch upgrading at wlds ) and the buses are not full b4 they move off. the interval 1-4min. Same for 962 bendy. And y there is always a tibs conductor standing there(always taking a pen n writin{like taking down bus arrival time} something-on the hardboard**,there is also a watch on the board)
i see everyday while waiting 4 912
**i do not if that thing is called a hardboard anyway those who do not wat i m talking about--it is a board- normally PE teachers used to support paper
the situation have improved alot for 856.but still hope if tibs could have better frequency for 856.Originally posted by off_service:I feel that the current number of buses are able to meet the demands except for a few trips. It would be better if 12m buses could facilitate the bendies.
Yeah, so many newer buses on it now...Originally posted by alantanchunshyan:the situation have improved alot for 856.but still hope if tibs could have better frequency for 856.
Got new buses but still cannot cope with loads sometimes. A little pointless IMO.Originally posted by off_service:Yeah, so many newer buses on it now...

I'd say that Yishun feeders are even better pampered than Woodlands feeders. The 12xx buses are all spanking new.Originally posted by service_238:Same goes for Yishun feeders. 12xx Habits are found there. TIBS simply deployed the Merz on those Trunk services.
CorrectOriginally posted by off_service:Just something on what I observed over the years..
The way TIBS deploy buses is a little different from SBS Transit. Many can observe that SBS Transit has better buses for most trunk services and most feeder / Townlink services are single deckers (except a few) or with older buses.
Many of you would think, why TIBS feeders or Intratown services have all the new buses? The answer is simple. TIBS simply put buses onto services when they feel the need is there. Just for example, when the first Habit buses came into services, the services with high demands or without Bendy buses got it first, then slowly to other services with Bendy buses. Just like the case of service 811, the 122x, 123x and 124x buses are on it because they have the need when these new buses are put into services. The same logic applies to service 963 when it was rebranded Trunk from Express.
There are other circumstances where TIBS put buses to beef up bus services when the new buses are available for revenue services. Therefore the new buses ended up on the services.
Of course, there are many more circumstances which I do not know and some of them with same logic applied to SBS Transit, popular services get the newer buses.
Doesnt Sv 56 have SBS 9136 J as a perm bus?Originally posted by service_238:Hmm From what i see from SBST on its deployment on the newest DDs (Trident and VSOs)
Tridents were initially deployed on high demand routes on 64 85 111 502 as reported in the news. I'm not sure if 80 was one of them. I'm not sure what buses they replace but i believe some SDs and older DDs were replaced by the Tridents. As with NEL and HGDEP deployments, Tridents went over to 80 as 80 is a super high demand route. Those on 111 502 were redeployed to 153 165 to replace the O305s.
Recently in march 2004, they were redeployed again on 62 89 to replace the older DDs on these services. in turn, the older VOs went to 153 165. I dont know the reasons why SBST does this but i;m sure there's a logical reasoning for that. What i reckon is that to redeploy Tridents on 89 would make HGDEP think that 89 has a full Trident DD fleet instead of a mixture of VO batches. Easier for them to track perhaps?
Now for the VSOs. They were put into service in Feb 2003. Some of them is because of the need of DDs and the replacements of other DDs. Here is the breakdown in order of rego..
28: Replace LO2x
76: Needs DDs. Some Merz redeployed somewhere else
21: Replace LO3x and maybe a couple of Merz
56: Replace all LO3x to make 56 a full VSO DD fleet
25: Replace Merz and older LO3x and to compete with 854 (show off also)
70: Replace 96xx DDs which gone over to BNDEP
31: Replace LO3x. They were redeployed on 72.
72: Needs DDs. At the same time beef up freq
133: Replace LO3x. They were redeployed on 55.
161: Needs DDs and to show off to TIBS in Woodlands.
168: Same as 161.

Apparantly SBS 9815 H is on vacation on 143. We'll see what happens when the ad is taken off.Originally posted by leeJZ:Doesnt Sv 56 have SBS 9136 J as a perm bus?
Doesnt Sv 21 and Sv 133 still have LO 3x?
That is quite true. Evidence is that when I complain to Tibs about their bus deployment, they will sure mention about the loadOriginally posted by off_service:Just something on what I observed over the years..
