You're kind of off topic here... You're supposed to give condolencesOriginally posted by SBS9818A:Interim livery could be SMRT decals pasted over Trans Island.
Condolences for what? It's not as if TIBS is going bankrupt, just a mere change of name under new ownership!Originally posted by cck_190:You're kind of off topic here... You're supposed to give condolences![]()
Where do you get the news from?Originally posted by cck_190:I wish to tell TIBS that it has served me well sice it started. Tibs was a cheerful company. I really feel sad for Tibs to lose it's name to SMRT. I will never forget my first ride on a tibs bus in 1992, on service 902. Tibs, even though your frequencies are lousy and you mistreat 307, I will respect you for helping me travel since I was born. I had always lived in a tibs area in my life. YIS-BP-WD-CCK
Other forumnites, enter your condolences to Trans Island Bus Service here. Tommorow will be the last day of tibs, after that, it will be called SMRT bus ltd.

My condolences. It should be case closed after first failed attempt to merge, but in the end.....![]()
Not sure, should be progressive.Originally posted by tranquilice:When will the bus livery be changed?
Ya...give condolence for having an established name to being change to a new @%#^$*& name.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Condolences for what? It's not as if TIBS is going bankrupt, just a mere change of name under new ownership!
Come to think about it, my first ride was on the now defunct 850 and 800 and 801 followed by 851, 852 & 853 brothers of AMK Ave 6 to Yishun Int. All these happened during 1989 - 1990... sobz to see that the cheerful look for 20+ years have come to a gloomy ending...Originally posted by cck_190:I wish to tell TIBS that it has served me well sice it started. When was the first attempt to merge? Why?Originally posted by tranquilice:Where do you get the news from?
My condolences. It should be case closed after first failed attempt to merge, but in the end.....![]()
Well, I said condolence mainly because of an established name going down.haha. I'm very sure nothing much will change except the name and the livery.Originally posted by SBS9816E:Actually, one shouldn't said it as condolences, as if TIBS is 'dying off' soon. What it did happen was that SMRT merged with TIBS to form SMRT and SMRTBus. This is to create a better competitiveness for the public transport operators, and also to maximise the capital for the company, for better utility of resource. In this case, we shall see both SMRT and TIBS to improve after the merger. Things do change against time, unless you could tell me that nothing changes in your life. That would be abnormal, wouldn't be?
Regarding the livery, though it looks kinda gloomy, one could depict in the way that it has stepped into a new millenium of public transportation. SMRT and TIBS are going into the new chapter of public transportation, and changes to be made to improve the existing services.
We shall see how SMRT and TIBS improve down the road, or what we don't like to see, getting lousy down the road.
If I remember correctly, first attempt to merge was in 2001. It failed, but they succeeded the second time.Originally posted by cck_190:When was the first attempt to merge? Why?
Cases like these usually happen when (I used TIBS and SMRT for this case) TIBS is not satisfied to the agreements and proposals that SMRT has to offer for TIBS. Hence, TIBS rejected the first time.Originally posted by tranquilice:If I remember correctly, first attempt to merge was in 2001. It failed, but they succeeded the second time.
