Service 23 originally plied between Tampines int and Tomlinson Rd (loop), shortened to Rochor Canal Rd after MRT went to Orchard.
Service 27 originally plied between Tampines int and Changi Airport PTB, once extended to Pasir Ris int but later shortened back to Tampines with the extension of service 53. In July 1999, extended to Sengkang int. In Dec 2002, extended again to Hougang Ctrl int.
Service 28 orginally plied between Tampines int and New Bridge Rd ter, withdrawn in 1992. Re-introduced in 1994, plying between Tampines int and Bedok int. In 2000, merged with service 152 and extended to Toa Payoh int.
Service 29 originally plied between Tampines int and CACC. In 1993, trips were truncated to loop at Changi Village terminal after 1930 hrs. In 1994, amended to loop at Changi Village terminal with the re-introduction of service 19.
Service 30 was amended to terminate at Boon Lay int in July 1990, with the closure of Jurong int. In June 1992, amended to ply ECP and Fort Rd.
Service 31 originally plied between Tampines int and Stadium Blvd. Merged with service 149 in 1993. -
As far as I know, sv. 20 plied between Chai Chee - Ghim Moh. Moved to Bedok when Chai Chee closed. Withdrawn in 1989. Route from Ghim Moh to WTC replaced by sv. 100. Before Ghim Moh, it terminated along Commonwealth Avenue near North Buona Vista Road. -

Service 25: mentioned in another thread (AMK thread) that it used to ply Paya Lebar before plying Hougang.
Service 26: no major route change, except the recent change in Kallang Bahru/Geylang Bahru and amendment to ply Whampoa North instead of above Woodsville flyover towards Toa Payoh.
Service 31: see my previous reply.
Service 32: mentioned in another thread that it used to ply Bedok - Upp Cross St in the 1980s, then merged with service 12 or 148. (forget which one)
Service 33: guess no route change from 1990s to now.
Service 34: introduced in 1995, no route change, later boarding was not allowed at the interchange, withdrawn in Sep 2002.
Service 35: introduced in 1995, no route change.
Service 36: formerly known as service 16E which was a one-way peak hours service plying airport - Bt Merah, change route in Sep 1998 to ply airport - Tomlinson Rd, change route last year again to skip Siglap Link.
Service 37: introduced in 1995, no route change.
Service 38: Need I say more?
Service 39: Need I say more?
Service 40: Used to ply Telok Kurau Rd, ply current route after merging with service 158 (then Bedok - Toa Payoh).
Service 41: Plied Bedok - Bt Merah, merged with service 197 (then Jurong - Lor 1 Geylang)
Service 42: former service M2, used to ply Frankel Ave and Siglap Dr in both directions.
The other 4x services I have very little or no memory.

Yes, service 149 plied quite near to indoor stadium, along Mountbatten Rd. The service did not enter the indoor stadium area, back then only services 14, 16 and 31 served the indoor stadium area, using Stadium Blvd and Stadium Rd.Originally posted by sbs&tibs:What? Service 51: Merged with former service 192 (Jurong - South Canal) in the 1980s. Amended to ply Pandan Gardens in May 2002. Service 53: Introduced in 1994, plying between Bishan and Hougang St 22, later extended to Changi Airport PTB. Used to run express along Tampines Rd between TPE and Hougang Ave 7/Defu Ave 1, later amended to call at additional pairs of stops along the road. In Sep 1996, amended to ply Pasir Ris Dr 12 with the modifications of Elias Rd/TPE junction.
Service 54: Introduced in 1993, plying between Bishan and New Bridge Rd. No route change. Parts of route is same as former service 134.
Service 55: Introduced in 1993, plying between Ang Mo Kio and Marine Parade, later extended to Bishan. Amended to become loop service in Sep 2001.
Service 56: Originally plying between Bishan and Toa Payoh, later merged with service 58 in the late 1980s.
Service 57: Originally plying between Bishan and Sin Ming Dr. Withdrawn in 1993. Now parts of service 410.
Service 58: See service 56
Service 59: Originally plying between Bishan and Jln Kayu. Later shortened to Ang Mo Kio. Handed to tibs in 1995. Extended to Sengkang and re-numbered service 866 in Feb 1999. Handed back to SBST in July 1999. Re-numbered again as service 86 in Dec 1999. -

Service 60: Plied between MacPherson terminal and Shenton Way, withdrawn between 1988 and 1991. Re-introduced in Nov 2002, when services 226 and 385 merged and re-numbered.
Service 61: Handed to tibs in Sep 2000. Changed route in Kallang Bahru area last year.
Service 62: Plied between Hougang South and Rumah Tinggi, shortened to New Bridge Rd in 1993. Amended to ply present route in Dec 2003.
Service 63: Re-introduced in 1993 when service 62 was shortened. Merged with service 382 in Nov 2002 and extended to Eunos.
Service 64: Amended to terminate at Sims Place instead of MacPherson, when merged with service 198 in 1993 and therefore skip Orchard Rd/Blvd and Tanglin Rd.
Service 65: Guess there's no route change from the 1990s.
Service 66: Plied between Tampines and Jurong East in the 1980s, shortened to Bedok later.
Service 67: Introduced in 1993, duplicated then service 23 between Tampines and Little India via PIE and Bendemeer Rd. Amended to ply current route by merging with service 4. Current route between Tampines interchange and Sims Ave/Geylang Rd is the former service 4 route. Handed to tibs in Dec 1999.
Service 68: Introduced in June 2003. No route change.
Service 69: Introduced in Sep 1995, when Temasek Polytechnic shifted to Tampines. No route change.

77 officially is a Farrer Road service since it does NOT call at Dunearn, Kheam Hock and Bukit Timah roads. -

75 - Started from Clementi initially. Had it been extended to Bt Panjang by 1988?
76 - I've fond memories of the orignal 76. Please see another post.
77 - Was it still Ang Mo Kio to Bendemeer Rd in 1988?
78 - The first service in Clementi. Launched with the opening of Clementi Interchange in 1980.

These 2 services were etched in my memory during my 4 years of living in Jurong East St. 24 (1984-198
76 (OMO 40c) - Clementi Interchange to Jurong East Ave 1 (loop)
76 was the first service to Jurong East New Town. It was introduced in 1984 and provided a vital connection from the infant town to the nearest developed town (ie. Clementi). When Jurong East Interchange was opened in June 1985, sv. 76 was amended to start from Jurong East and loop at Clementi Interchange. It was withdrawn by years' end because there were other services (namely 7, 147 and 333) which shared its route.
79 - Jurong East Terminal to Bras Basah Rd (loop)
79 got the dubious honour of being the first trunk service in Jurong East. It was also introduced in 1984 and mostly followed the route of 147. In fact, its demise was due to its integration with 147. 79 made a comeback in June 1985, plying from the new Jurong East Interchange to Empress Place, its route similar to that of 97 today (ie. via AYE and Alexandra Rd). The second demise of 79 was caused when 97 (which originally plied via Clementi Rd and Pasir Panjang Rd) was amended to ply 79's route instead. Seemingly attached to Jurong East, it made its second comeback there in 1993, this time going to Boon Lay Interchange. Its present route came after an amendment made in 1994.
