May I visually enlighten you with the phrase CONTINUOUS HISTORY?
Of course NOTHING happened in between.
Neither did I, cos I was only like 6 years old or so.Originally posted by freakybuses:oh... now I see... but I din't see swapping of routes notice before... so can anyone remember how the notice look like?
for those who want to go way back, there was a time in 1977 oir so when there were no feeders in toa payoh. in fact the 14x and 15x buses go round and round TPY before coming outOriginally posted by sbs&tibs:145 used to terminate at Kent Ridge.
When did 147 merge? It did not ply waterloo street anymore as part of the road was closed.
156: It is not 25 Sep, it is 29 July.
159: amended to loop at Sengkang due to the amendment of 163.
161: Admiralty road west to Shenton Way.
163: Jalan Kayu to World Trade Centre before shorten to TPY.
19 exists in 1981, but not 17.Originally posted by xin1jun2:ok i looked at my 1980 bus guide..i dun find any 17 or 18 back then

but in 1980 there was a 19;
19: Siglap road - prince edward road
via east coast road
mountbatten rd

1977: 135 operated between Toa Payoh and 13.3km Upper Changi Road via MacPherson and East Coast RoadOriginally posted by Zilchster:Svc 135 did operated from Marine Parade or somewhere to Macpherson Estate...was only extended to AMK later...i remember 135 used double deckers
heard from sources that it has been around since the Aumgulated (or whatever that is) Bus Co days.. that's almost 40 years!Originally posted by iveco:Service 170: Never amended before, except the Malaysian sector. How long has it been around?
Actually, it was first introduced as Green Bus Route 1. Will confirm for you later.Originally posted by service_238:heard from sources that it has been around since the Aumgulated (or whatever that is) Bus Co days.. that's almost 40 years!
In the 1985 Bus Guide, there is a picture of a bus stop outside DBS Building along Collyer Quay. Bus services were:Originally posted by xin1jun2:well darryl wanted me to share so bus patterns i noticed
the shenton way pattern of 1978
in 1978 if u were in the area of shenton way and rafles quay bus stops may have the following bus
1 10 20 30 40 50 60 70 80 90 75 100 120 125 130
of coruse today only 10 30 70 100 130 remains from that historical fact sianzzz
in 1878 if u were in the chinatown area from NBR to stanford area buses going by would look like this
1 11 219yes early 70s confirm got 21 in chinatown) 41 51 61 81 91 101 131 141 151 181
now of course only 51 61 131 961 reminas from that piece of pattern

then did CSS 5 (605)'s route been amended after 1985?Originally posted by The_Bus_Guide:In the 1985 Bus Guide, there is a picture of a bus stop outside DBS Building along Collyer Quay. Bus services were:
SBS
1, 10, 20, 30, 50, 60, 70, 75, 80, 82, 94, 97, 100, 107, 112, 125, 130, 131, 138, 141, 146, 163, 172, 175, 189, 193, 196, 301, 303, 305, 306, CBD1
TIBS
161, 180, 850
CSS
2, 5, 7, 8, 9
As you can see, all the TIBS svs were wiped out and only 1 (re-numbered) CSS service remained, 8 (60. As for the SBS ones, more than half were eliminated, leaving only 10, 70, 75, 97, 100, 107, 130, 131, 196.
In effect it was totally withdrawn and reinstated the next day. Only the stretch to Lavender is the original Sv. 13, if I'm not wrong.Originally posted by The_Bus_Guide:Nothing happened in between, brother. It just went from Eunos - Ghim Moh to Eunos - Yio Chu Kang "snap" just like that. Amazing, yes, but its true. And it became a full A/C service.
No difference from being amended from Ghim Moh to Yio Chu Kang. You can say whatever you want.Originally posted by SBS9818A:In effect it was totally withdrawn and reinstated the next day. Only the stretch to Lavender is the original Sv. 13, if I'm not wrong.
That's quite true. There are many permutations for this case.Originally posted by Yusry:No difference from being amended from Ghim Moh to Yio Chu Kang. You can say whatever you want.
219 did exist before. It started out as a Bedok Interchange - Chai Chee Road service, I believe. It was later merged with 224 (which was withdrawn) to serve Bedok South estate. It was only recently renumbered as 229 when the latter was merged with 221 to form Townlink 222.Originally posted by BlessingSatan:Thanks Guys,Now 190,191,192,193,194,195,196,197,198,199,200,201,202,203,204,205,206,207,208,209,210,211,212,213,214,215,216,217,218,219 & 220.(210-219 if exists before)
220 started out as Chai Chee Terminus - Bedok New TownOriginally posted by delonchew:I am not sure of the origins of 220 but I think it started out as a Bedok Interchange - Bedok South service. Route mainly unchanged through the years until recently merged with 290 to form 38.
