As shown on the map below, the present stretch of Telok Paku Rd was un-named in the 1970s. I believe that the stretch of Telok Paku Rd shown on the map is present Aviation Dr and North Perimeter Rd.
The un-named stretch in your map is what I considered the 1st junction. The 2nd junction is as per your map. -

Bt Panjang before 1988 was called Zhenghua. Svc 5 used to call at Zhenghua Ter before the name was changed.
Choa Chu Kang West was not developed in 1992.
78 was not the first service at Clementi Int. 76 was the one. -
The 78 we know today was a re-introduced version. The original 78 (Clementi - Queensway) was launched together with the official opening of Clementi Interchange in 1980. 78 can be found in the 1980 Guide. 76 (Clementi - Jurong East) only appeared in the 1982 Guide.Originally posted by freakybuses:Btw, today's research @ JRL:

Yes, there was a road called Lorong Cheng Hwa before Bt Panjang was developed. Zhenghua is the Pinyinised version of Cheng Hwa.Originally posted by freakybuses:Btw, today's research @ JRL:

Most of the roads in Bt Panjang had former lives as Lorongs. For example, Petir Road was formerly Lorong Petir. But these Lorongs are not in the exact same place as the Roads, though they are found in the vicinity of Bt Panjang. -

Take the 1992 Transitlink Guide out and see the west side is empty. A lot of tracks and see what's above CCK Stn... Quite shocked to see that... I would still prefer Punggol if CCK were to be in that state.Originally posted by cck_190:Which section did you find about the towns? -
Ahh...The old Choa Chu Kang. Tell you a bit about Choa Chu Kang. Choa Chu Kang, had a three stage development plan. The first stage, by 1992, was completed. It is Teck Whye. The next stage was Choa Chu Kang West.It was completed in 1994-1996. I think that Yew Tee Development plan wasn't a confirmed plan till 1996, when they reviewed it. One more info abt CCK. Back in 198X when the MRT was being planned, there wasn't supposed to be a MRT Stn in CCK, it was supposed to be in Bt Panjang. This might be because during the planning stage, Bt Panjang was more developed than CCK. -
