Not all AMK buses terminate at Sembawang Hills Circus. Most did not exist. 169 stopped at Dieppe Barracks (opposite Khatib Camp).
166 and 168 operated in AMK in 1977. -

Spot on. Old Jurong Road of 2004 is part of Jurong Road of 1977.
Old Jurong Road of 1977 is an old road running about parallel to Jurong Road of 1977 around Jurong West Avenue 2 of 2004. -
Jurong Rd in the 1970s began from present Old Jurong Rd/Upp Bt Timah Rd junction, winded thru Bt Batok town, meet up with present Jurong Rd and ended at Jln Boon Lay/Jln Bahar junction. From this junction to Tuas village, it was called Upp Jurong Rd.

Correct, the road was split. The Jurong Road (parallel to current Jurong West Avenue 2) found in 1988 street directory is un-named in 1972. This, I assume was Old Jurong Road. (Renamed to Jurong Road in 1988 when 1972 Jurong Road was renamed PIE.

My guess is that sometime in 1950s and 60s, that road was Jurong Road. In the 1970s, it was renamed Old Jurong Road (unofficially) when the new straightened Jurong Road came out.
When the straightened Jurong Road was renamed PIE, the unofficial Old Jurong Road was renamed back to Jurong Road, which exists till now. -
Jurong Rd is old, very old. I think it was built at the turn of the last century. It started from Bt Timah Rd (opp Bt Timah Fire Station) and ended at Jln Boon Lay. From there onwards to Tuas Village, it is known as Upp Jurong Rd.
Let's begin the story of Jurong Rd first. The original road was narrow and very winding. A newer road was built which was slightly wider and straighter. This new road included some portions of the old road. Parts of the old road which were excluded from the 'upgrading' were renamed Old Jurong Rd. Eventually, Old Jurong Rd ceased to exist. However, one small portion is still visible today. It is now within Bt Batok Nature Park and used as a jogging track.
Jurong Rd underwent another major change with the development of Bt Batok New Town. The portion between Jln Jurong Kechil to Blk 210 was renamed as Bt Batok East Ave 6. From there on to Bt Batok Rd, it was deleted. Now there's 2 Jurong Rd, one on each end of Bt Batok. To avoid confusion, the one starting from Bt Timah Rd was renamed Old Jurong Rd.
Jurong Rd did not become a part of the PIE (except for one tiny portion near Jln Boon Lay). The PIE was built parellel to it. Jurong West Ave 2 was formerly a part of the PIE. Jurong Rd was cut short to Hong Kah Flyover during the PIE extension. The disused portion will eventually disappear with the future development of Jurong West N2. -

easier to compare now. I found out that there are hidden tracks and roads ceased to exist. Eg: Hong Kah Lane/Dr, Sing Nan Rd, Kian Hong Rd and the odd number tracks.Originally posted by Yusry:I beg to differ.
