it is possible tat the acceleration lock may have been deactivated when the other doors are closed. however it would most likely be an one-off incident of conincidence assuming the locks are not "really" faulty. but given the length of service of the Citaros, the lock system may have started to wear out.
the locking device is activated when any of the doors are open and deactivated when all of the doors are closed. tis is noted by the clicks & gas-release produced by the bus. however there are noted 2 observed exceptions: 1) for Habit ZF series 1147-1176 it appears only the 2 rear doors are under lock. 2) for all Voith series it is possible tat the brake pedal-induced lock (as observed by a click near the driver's seat when the brake is depressed for 3 secs) could interfere with the door-induced lock since both use the same lock system. thus it is possible tat the driver about to leave a bus stop may have released his brake pedal before the door has fully closed and deactivated the lock (noted by gas-release).
