ok first things first. Even if SMRT takes over NEL, SBST may not want CCK back. They will ask: for what? I speculate that if SMRT takes over NEL, SBST may increase bus services in the area to compete with NEL. This is happening in the Eastern area. There're many services in the area.Originally posted by cck_190:I was quite sad. In October 2003, there were talks on SBST giving up the NEL. This was a very happy occasion for me. If SBS gives up the NEL, there would be a chance that CCK would be given back to SBS. Sadly, nothing happened...till now, I'm still waiting for SBS to take over Choa Chu Kang.
I can SWEAR that SBS did a better job when they were having CCK.Those were the CCK services' heydays. CCK received the 2nd townlink service. 190 had a full DD fleet. For some reason, TIBS seem to hate CCK...
But Tampines & Bedok are among the most pampered of SBS interchanges, and Pasir Ris doesnt lag far behind, it gets quite good buses but not enough services. Those three are the ones mainly controlled by BNDEP.Originally posted by service_238:ok first things first. Even if SMRT takes over NEL, SBST may not want CCK back. They will ask: for what? It's not that CCK is mistreated. Its the depot that controls CCK" KJDEP. as we all know KJDEP is machiam another BNDEP. and also KJDEP has its constraints as well..
Be more understanding. Forgive and forget![]()
Tampines was pampered because of Mah Bow Tan. What i meant in my point just now was the mantainence and the amount of buses KJDEP has to deploy on its services.Originally posted by leeJZ:But Tampines & Bedok are among the most pampered of SBS interchanges, and Pasir Ris doesnt lag far behind, it gets quite good buses but not enough services. If SMRT takes over NEL, will SBS undo all the rationalization stuff?

sbs&Tibs, you're making me very, very angry. But I can take it. I'll...just have to move on.
Frankly speaking, at the time of the takeover, it didn't affect me much as I was still small. I did not even notice what was happening until I was Primary 3, in 2000. I noticed that the year before, there were SBS buses but all of a sudden, just 1 week before I moved into Choa Chu Kang, the buses changed to Tibs.

btw, sbs&tibs, why did you like the takeover? Let me tell you sbs&tibs, you wouldn't be very happy if you're living in CCK. A lot of services are being mistreated.[/b]
AMK is NOT PAMPERED at all.... why? The int is much smaller compared to the old AMK int and we still have to wait till 2007 before we get to see the new bus int...Originally posted by leeJZ:But Tampines & Bedok are among the most pampered of SBS interchanges, and Pasir Ris doesnt lag far behind, it gets quite good buses but not enough services. Let's see.... Choa Chu Kang - Bedok via Bt Panjang, Toa Payoh & Ubi Ave 2?Originally posted by BlessingSatan:It is better off that SBST won the NEL tender as to balance with SMRT whom had TIBS,CSS,BusPlus & the upcoming CCL under its wings. At least it is quite balance.Let SMRT control CCK,BP & BB as it should be,I just hope that a SBST service will introduced @ CCK or BP,That's all!
Make it ply expressway la Mal,SMRT won't allow a SBST sv ply too much of their routes lehOriginally posted by service_238:Let's see.... Choa Chu Kang - Bedok via Bt Panjang, Toa Payoh & Ubi Ave 2?![]()
Sounds cool though... (Hint: i got a direct bus to BTP and CCK)
Hmm how about...Originally posted by BlessingSatan:Make it ply expressway la Mal,SMRT won't allow a SBST sv ply too much of their routes leh(cck-Btp)
Hey! I'm not harping over past issues. sbs&tibs brought it up back. As I said, I have moved on!Originally posted by SBS9818A:I still think it's pointless to harp over past issues. I wasn't too happy about the NEL rationalizations but do you see me harping over it now? No.
Ya,Didn't they had plans to merge?Originally posted by cck_190:Nonono...In the year 1997, SMRT was just a train company, a monopoly company!Tibs was just a small bus company. How to balance?
SMRT and TIBS had a joint bidding for the NEL.Originally posted by cck_190:Nonono...In the year 1997, SMRT was just a train company, a monopoly company!Tibs was just a small bus company. How to balance?
OK, now I'm confused.Originally posted by off_service:SMRT and TIBS had a joint bidding for the NEL.

I am very very sorry. I really like to see Tibs to be islandwide. I am really very sorry.Originally posted by cck_190:sbs&Tibs, you're making me very, very angry. But I can take it. I'll...just have to move on.

Im happy with SBS. But wouldnt mind having TIBS introduce somemore services to "my" interchanges of Pasir Ris / Tampines.Originally posted by cck_190:It's like a cycle.

For me it is better for an SBST Interchange to had a few SMRT buses and vice-versa,Doesn't mean that i want Pasir Ris(exp) to be taken over by SMRT fully.Originally posted by cck_190:It's like a cycle.

That's Right Mr Darryl.Originally posted by SBS9818A:IMO, having a balance would be good. More variety for commuters to choose from.
Originally posted by cck_190:Well.....Im sure SMRT Bus is trying its best given its pathetic fleet....The proportion of high capacity buses is much lower than that of SBST, SBST has roughly 700 ADDs, which is ard 45% of its fleet size, excluding the VO2-Ax while TIBS has ard 290 units only, which is less than SBST.
