Still, they are temporary, right?Originally posted by service_238:Temporary in a sense that they will be around for the next half decade.
Bukit Panjang should be perm. There is simply not enough space to build another interchange.Originally posted by cck_190:Both Punggol & Bukit Panjang are temporary interchanges
No, it's temporary as stated on the board during construction. The new one is going to be intergrated with the BTLOriginally posted by SBS9818A:Bukit Panjang should be perm. There is simply not enough space to build another interchange.
Do you know the exact date whereby CCK Int was OFFICIALLY opened?Originally posted by tranquilice:Tuas terminal opened on Sunday 19 July 1998.
Upp East Coast terminal opened sometime in Jan 2002. But boarding and alighting activities were allowed there only from Sunday 04 Aug 2002.
Changi Airport PTB 2 terminal is more appropriate, as the control office is located there.Originally posted by BlessingSatan:1 When was it opened?Any histories?

Maybe...but it seems that it's opening wasn't grand. There's no plaque or anything...Originally posted by tranquilice:http://www.smrt.com.sg/aboutsmrt-milestones.htm Choa Chu Kang MRT station was opened on 10 March 1990, perhaps the bus interchange was opened on the same day?
Hey there everyone!Originally posted by cck_190:TIB744, how come you got to enter the service captains' lounge? btw, WRI is probably the last non-aircon interchange ever built
What were the goodies?Originally posted by TIB744U:Hey there everyone!
Basically... That's because I was too early for a Friend of SMRT event and I met the FSMRT coordinator who asked me to help her pack the goodies bags which were supposed to be given to us, so therefore she asked me to go into the Service Captains' Lounge with her and help pack the stuffs. I saw a lot of service captains inside who asked, "What're these goodie bags for, for us?"... Heehee, the Service Captains were very curious... Cute
Beside the refuse collection centre?Originally posted by BlessingSatan:Buona Vista should had Boarding & Alighting berths in my honest opinion.I feel that Ghim Moh Terminal is better to shift inside the Carpark slightly.
If that's the case,Forget it!Originally posted by tranquilice:Beside the refuse collection centre?![]()
When I last went to Ghim Moh terminal in Nov 2003, the alighting point for the 2 services (100 and 111) is beside a rubbish collection centre, and is un-sheltered. The buses will turn into this small road and alight pax beside the rubbish collection centre, and then reversed and went out to the parking lots outside the control office. Luckily the boarding point is not located as the same place as the alighting point or else.....Originally posted by BlessingSatan:If that's the case,Forget it!![]()
the small area behind the refuse collection centre is too small for buses to park so the buses can only doa 3-point turn there...Originally posted by tranquilice:When I last went to Ghim Moh terminal in Nov 2003, the alighting point for the 2 services (100 and 111) is beside a rubbish collection centre, and is un-sheltered. Ghim Moh Ter is simply too cramped. It could have been better designed IMO.Originally posted by tranquilice:When I last went to Ghim Moh terminal in Nov 2003, the alighting point for the 2 services (100 and 111) is beside a rubbish collection centre, and is un-sheltered. Heard from my friend living there that buses terminating at Ghim Moh terminal used to enter via the carpark road between block 9 and block 10. There is a dedicated bus lane behind block 9, the buses will travel on this lane and then go pass the rubbish collection centre and lastly turn out into Ghim Moh Rd. But that has been stopped and the road outside the rubbish collection centre has been blocked from the rest of the carpark.Originally posted by gynobcard:the small area behind the refuse collection centre is too small for buses to park so the buses can only doa 3-point turn there...
It's a roadside terminal.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Ghim Moh Ter is simply too cramped. It could have been better designed IMO.
That's the reason why i feels that Buona Vista should have boarding & alighting berths and Ghim Moh to have proper parking berths rather than the cramped current ones.Originally posted by leeJZ:They should have not shut down the project to integrate the two terminals + the LTA headquarters...better than two messed up terminals.

Hmm....that explains some things, like why there is a bus-stop pole opp the refuse collection centre. I remember last time, the driver would do the 3-point turn first, then release the passengers.Originally posted by tranquilice:Heard from my friend living there that buses terminating at Ghim Moh terminal used to enter via the carpark road between block 9 and block 10.
