ok SMRTB will buy new buses. Good thing.. Bad thing is that... they're not for 950.Originally posted by cck_190:With this happening, I expect SMRT to buy new buses soon! btw, congrats guys, for guessing the number of the bus correctly...![]()
Let the 950 have the Old Merc. Singapore services deserve the new buses...why give good buses to Johor service?Originally posted by service_238:ok SMRTB will buy new buses. Good thing.. Bad thing is that... they're not for 950.
What does 950 get? The Merz lor... and lots and lots of it
Also a good sign.. I can take TIBS buses of other models. Apparantly my most frequent models are the habits and the HC Merz (OAC and CAC)

If Im not wrong Sv 77 cannot get bendies due to the hilly Toh Tuck Rd. Also, Sv 106 which has plenty of bendies including Habits duplicates Sv 77 from Holland Rd all the way to Marina Centre.Originally posted by SBST390:i realise sometimes u do take extreme views on certain issues.
bus deployment does not have to depned on where the service ply entirely.but the loading rather. if i wanna argue ur case why dun 77 get lotsa of habits since it travels the entire stretch of orchard, bras basah and MRC.
childish views u have there
not sure how many they will deploy... but since its from WRI to JB... it prolly needs lesser buues. and most likely from WLDEP too... KJ to messy alreadyOriginally posted by leeJZ:If Im not wrong Sv 77 cannot get bendies due to the hilly Toh Tuck Rd. Also, Johor services dont always get new buses. Sv 170 been utilizing Mk3s instead of the original Mk4 Striders that SBS wanted. Probably SMRTbus would need quite a few buses, considering SBS has 60 buses dedicated for Sv 170.
Well its sorta like that.Originally posted by SBST390:precisely... this is aother factor to consider when deployments are done. which i was trying to argue against cck190's on deploying better buses on more "attractive" routes
Don't blame me for being nosey. I am just asking where the piece of information you got it from.Originally posted by cck_190:A source had given info thet the new SMRTB Johor service is confirmed. SMRT is currently discussing the criterias with the Johor Authorities. The service number is confirmed to be Service 950.

Got it from a friend who asked Tibs. This friend is monitoring our topics and posts. he will be joining us soon.Originally posted by sbs&tibs:Don't blame me for being nosey. I am just asking where the piece of information you got it from.
77 does not have bendys because of the roads it travels on.Originally posted by SBST390:i realise sometimes u do take extreme views on certain issues.

It would probably the new livery. You sound like you're insulting Malaysians...you say they cannot compare!Originally posted by bus911:Will there be a chance of seeing 950 withTIBSliveryor will SMRT use buses with SMRTlivery?
Won't the people in malaysia get confused btw 170 and 950 if SMRTlivery was used?![]()

Hopes the Nissans don't cameos on this svs.Originally posted by service_238:Hmm.. I've seen the 170 pattern from late 1980s till now..
B57 --> Mk2 WA --> Mk3 --> Mk4 Strider ?? That might be a possiblity considering that BBDEP is a Strider infested depot.
And as for the bus deployment, its up to the bus companies to deploy what bus on what route. I feel that the HC Merz is the candidate for TIBS950 because
1. It has alot of buses of the same kind
2. It is one of the oldest amongst all the TIBS buses.
Same concept towards SBST170.
SMRTbus wouldnt put bendies on the Johor service what...look, SBS never dumped any DDs on Sv 170.Originally posted by SBS9845X:put habits on 950....got third brake light what........hahaz...just crapping.....if u put habit on 950, i think less than 3 months the seat become black and the bus become dunno what trash........

I don't see any Service 170 Mark 3s becoming trash, and the seats becoming black. Please refrain from making such statements in future.Originally posted by SBS9845X:put habits on 950....got third brake light what........hahaz...just crapping.....if u put habit on 950, i think less than 3 months the seat become black and the bus become dunno what trash........
DDs cannot ply Johor due to height restrictions issues? i think the bus boarding area at Johor Checkpoint (into Johor side) is not high enough to accomodate a full-height 4.5m double decker.Originally posted by leeJZ:SMRTbus wouldnt put bendies on the Johor service what...look, SBS never dumped any DDs on Sv 170.
DDs are only about 4m high else they would have got their tops ripped off when pasing under the bridges n flyovers. i don't think the height of the checkpoint is a factor, more likely the loads on svc 170 and other factors as dictated by M'siaOriginally posted by ^tamago^:DDs cannot ply Johor due to height restrictions issues? i think the bus boarding area at Johor Checkpoint (into Johor side) is not high enough to accomodate a full-height 4.5m double decker.
Yes, that's right. I remember someone here quoted from an official publication on the list of roads not passable to vehicles of more than 4 metres in height. Woodlands Checkpoint was one of the roads listed. Was it tranquilice who quoted that?Originally posted by ^tamago^:DDs cannot ply Johor due to height restrictions issues? i think the bus boarding area at Johor Checkpoint (into Johor side) is not high enough to accomodate a full-height 4.5m double decker.
