To be exact, DDs are close to 4.4m in height.Originally posted by gynobcard:DDs are only about 4m high else they would have got their tops ripped off when pasing under the bridges n flyovers. i don't think the height of the checkpoint is a factor, more likely the loads on svc 170 and other factors as dictated by M'sia
for evrybody info 77 cna use bendiesOriginally posted by cck_190:77 does not have bendys because of the roads it travels on.
Please, watch your words. I see that you come here once in a while, can't you mind your words?
My point is not childish. It is a fact. If SBS bought New Citaro Merc buses, and SBS deploys them on Sv 170. Would you be happy?I'm sure you would want SBS to deploy it on better services!
Mind your words...
toh tuck avenue's ascent is much more steep than holland hill actually, and it is very difficult to do a left turn & overdrive all the way up the hill. a right turn prob would provide enough initial momentum to ascent it, but not the left turn.Originally posted by xin1jun2:for evrybody info 77 cna use bendies

Toh Tuck Rd, not Ave. Toh Tuck Ave can easily accomodate bendies, ie Sv 963.Originally posted by ^tamago^:toh tuck avenue's ascent is much more steep than holland hill actually, and it is very difficult to do a left turn & overdrive all the way up the hill. a right turn prob would provide enough initial momentum to ascent it, but not the left turn.
anyway due to the fact the svc is only highly loaded during peak hours & the frequency is already so long, there's no point in putting bendies & making the frequency go to something unacceptable, like 17-25 mins.
4.4m to be precise. That's why they need a clearance of at least 4.5m. Height restriction is a big hindrance. There are a lot of low hanging branches and low street lamps. But, most importantly is the height of the flyover at the Johor Immigration Checkpoint. It is only 4.0m, impassable to DDs.Originally posted by gynobcard:DDs are only about 4m high else they would have got their tops ripped off when pasing under the bridges n flyovers. i don't think the height of the checkpoint is a factor, more likely the loads on svc 170 and other factors as dictated by M'sia
I don't have to imagine because I have experienced it. Sv. 173, which also went via Toh Tuck Rd, used MK3s before the handover. Very sluggish.Originally posted by leeJZ:Toh Tuck Rd, not Ave. Toh Tuck Ave can easily accomodate bendies, ie Sv 963.
btw Imagine an Mk3 doing the climb![]()
There are repainted Mk IIIs waiting to be put on Sv. 170, currently roaming around BBDEP services.Originally posted by leeJZ:SBS should apply to get those JB Mk3s repainted![]()

Probably next to Sv. 966, as WRI is at maximum capacity.Originally posted by bus911:which route will 950 take?.................w'lands ave3w'lands centre rd

JB ?
Which berth will 950 be, beside 966?
will the queueing place(metal bars) for 950 be longer than other services in woodlands.Or not why y 966 queueing place very short.
We can't really say that the demand of 950 will be very high, some passengers might choose Causeway Link and SBS for their trip to JB.Originally posted by bus911:which route will 950 take?.................w'lands ave3w'lands centre rd

It has space for two more services at the 966 berth.Originally posted by cck_190:We can't really say that the demand of 950 will be very high, some passengers might choose Causeway Link and SBS for their trip to JB.
btw, I wouldn't like the service to start from WRI. WRI is veeeeeerrrrry crowded already![]()
The metal railings have to be erected, thus me saying WRI is at full capacity.Originally posted by leeJZ:It has space for two more services at the 966 berth.
Then where's your proposal,CCK?Originally posted by cck_190:We can't really say that the demand of 950 will be very high, some passengers might choose Causeway Link and SBS for their trip to JB.
