CCK Rd is now broken into 8 stretches:Originally posted by cck_190:Hi all,
From what I know, there were 3 versions of Choa Chu Kang Road. Can anyone kindly tell me more about each version of Choa Chu Kang Road?
Thanks In Advance
but bus guides still treat the separate roads as CCK Rd.Originally posted by wuming78:i noe theres a choa chu kang road and an old choa chu kang road. the former i think is really at cck, while the latter is at lim chu kang.
Demolished?Originally posted by freakybuses:but bus guides still treat the separate roads as CCK Rd.
btw, an off topic but still on roads ques:
Can anyone tell me more about Hong Kah Village near Jurong Rd? When were the roads demolished?
But why not indicated in street directories?Originally posted by tranquilice:Demolished?I guess there's still some tracks there which lead to Jln Lam Sam, but were no longer indicated on the street directory. Further deep into Jln Lam Sam is currently used as a military training area, out of public access.
Saw my mighty minds 2002 street directory, some tracks off Jurong Rd are indicated. As for now, I'm not sure as I have not been passing there on service 174.Originally posted by freakybuses:But why not indicated in street directories?
Track 18 and 22 I suppose? but not Hong Kah Circle.Originally posted by tranquilice:Saw my mighty minds 2002 street directory, some tracks off Jurong Rd are indicated. As for now, I'm not sure as I have not been passing there on service 174.
Correct.Originally posted by freakybuses:Track 18 and 22 I suppose? but not Hong Kah Circle.
Traces of these roads are still visible. Tracks 18, 20 and 22 are still in use. Hong Kah Circle is out of bounds. The area have been declared as a "Protected Place" so please do not venture there.Originally posted by tranquilice:Saw my mighty minds 2002 street directory, some tracks off Jurong Rd are indicated. Those in Seletar East Camp. those NS guys who have been to seletar wet gap should know. although the street directory shows the roads nicely, its actually one hell of a convoluted network of gravel tracks in thereOriginally posted by freakybuses:Any other roads sealed and Out of Bounds to public?
Changi Airport Cargo Complex? How about Gombak Drive etc the roads surrounding the MINDEF HQ at Upp Bukit Timah Rd.Originally posted by freakybuses:Any other roads sealed and Out of Bounds to public?
Whatabout the roads in Keat Hong Camp 1? The one opposite Bt Batok Rd, near CCK? My mom told me that was the old road that linked CCK & BB.Originally posted by freakybuses:Any other roads sealed and Out of Bounds to public?
You mean the junction below Bt Batok Rd, bef CCK Way?Originally posted by cck_190:Whatabout the roads in Keat Hong Camp 1? The one opposite Bt Batok Rd, near CCK? My mom told me that was the old road that linked CCK & BB.
Yup,yup,yup...Originally posted by freakybuses:You mean the junction below Bt Batok Rd, bef CCK Way?
passenger can choose not to alight when bus reach gombak drive. even if the passenger alight, they still have to pass by main gate (which is about 200m from the bus stop) where military police will check their pass before entering mindef.Originally posted by leeJZ:Changi Airport Cargo Complex? BTW how do those inspectors manage to check everyone on the bus at the CACC during peak hours? When the bus is loaded with plenty standing...
Yes, it's out of bound. Went inside before as a NSF.Originally posted by The_Bus_Guide:Traces of these roads are still visible. Tracks 18, 20 and 22 are still in use. Hong Kah Circle is out of bounds. The area have been declared as a "Protected Place" so please do not venture there.

MINDEF car park as indicated in the bus guide refers to the car park outside the MINDEF pass office. Service 177 buses will enter this carpark, there is a stop for boarding and alighting.Originally posted by leeJZ:How about Gombak Drive etc the roads surrounding the MINDEF HQ at Upp Bukit Timah Rd.
Track 22 if I'm not mistaken. Public vehicles still accessed it last June, when I went in on a joyride. Ended up at Jln Lam Sam. There are fences halfway into the track.Originally posted by tranquilice:Demolished?I guess there's still some tracks there which lead to Jln Lam Sam, but were no longer indicated on the street directory. hmm am i revealing classified military information?Originally posted by tranquilice:What's Seletar wet gap?
In the east camp, the roads from the main gate to the former medical centre (where service 103 U-turn) is considered public. After the medical centre, there will be a post where regimental police stationed (in the past), from there onwards the roads are private. Correct if I'm wrong.![]()
If you enter Jln Lam Sam from Choa Chu Kang Rd, after about 1km or so, there will be a fence with a sign that says beyond this point is a military training area. I'm not sure where this area extends to.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Track 22 if I'm not mistaken. Public vehicles still accessed it last June, when I went in on a joyride. Ended up at Jln Lam Sam. Ok, I've checked the 2002 road guide. That road was listed as track 22/21. In 2004 road gude don't have anymoreOriginally posted by tranquilice:If you enter Jln Lam Sam from Choa Chu Kang Rd, after about 1km or so, there will be a fence with a sign that says beyond this point is a military training area. Originally posted by gynobcard:The gate you was mentioning is just near to the former Jln Kayu terminal, where everyone heading to both east camp and west camp have to pass thru. It's known as Seletar camp gate.
hmm am i revealing classified military information?basically its juz a river inside Seletar East camp used for training (water obstacles).
The RP post is before the camp gate, and all pax must alight and be checked before being allowed to reboard to enter Seletar East to alight @ the Medical centre. Now that 103 does not call at the medical centre anymore, i'm not sure about the arrangement.
