This road extends to Track 22. Many cars use this route as a shortcut to Jurong.Originally posted by tranquilice:If you enter Jln Lam Sam from Choa Chu Kang Rd, after about 1km or so, there will be a fence with a sign that says beyond this point is a military training area. I'm not sure where this area extends to.
legally or illegally?Originally posted by SBS9818A:This road extends to Track 22. Many cars use this route as a shortcut to Jurong.
No idea, but the gates were WIDE open when I passed through in June last year.Originally posted by ^tamago^:legally or illegally?
Mostly military training areas.Originally posted by freakybuses:Any other roads sealed and Out of Bounds to public?
Should be illegally, that's a SAF protected area.Originally posted by ^tamago^:legally or illegally?
That place under the SLE bridge is completely dark at night. I couldn't see anything without switching my torchlight on.Originally posted by ula_man:Mostly military training areas.
Simpang- near Yishun Industrial Park A heavy vehicle car park. Nice place.
Lentor- opposite Motorola but still have PUB personnel access. still got a shady place under the SLE bridge to relax
Punggol- somewhere near Punggol Marina, still got ah pek living in a hut. There is also an eerie house inside the training grounds. Army guys should know. Now, building new town on the urines of army boys.
End of CCK road, opposite National Gun Centre. There is a barrier too, I think still allow public as theres still cemetary and temple inside?
nonono, i'm referring to the one at the entrance to East Camp. i went there before during NS and pax have to be checked before being allowed to enter the gate to proceed to the medical centreOriginally posted by tranquilice:The gate you was mentioning is just near to the former Jln Kayu terminal, where everyone heading to both east camp and west camp have to pass thru. It's known as Seletar camp gate.
The other camp gate is known as east camp gate, after the point where service 103 loops. There's also a west camp gate.
You can refer to 2004 transitlink guide, Seletar camp gate and east camp gate are indicated on service 103 page. West camp gate number 3 is indicated on service 103W page.
Which medical centre are you referring to? Is it the one where service 214E/820/378/103 used to loop?Originally posted by gynobcard:nonono, i'm referring to the one at the entrance to East Camp. i went there before during NS and pax have to be checked before being allowed to enter the gate to proceed to the medical centre
I think that's because those roads are part of the military camp??? The entrances to the roads AFAIK have been closed.Originally posted by Yusry:My 2 cents worth about Jalan Lam Sam.
According to my 2004 Mighty Minds Street Directory, there are no gates along Jalan Lam Sam, Jalan Chichau and Track 22.
Yes, you are right. There are definitely no gates along Jalan Lam Sam because there is a cement/sand factory inside Jalan Lam Sam and many tipper trucks use that road to get to the factory. The military enclosed area is right inside and I believe it is not indicated on the street directory. As for what the road leading into the military area is called, I am not sure.Originally posted by Yusry:My 2 cents worth about Jalan Lam Sam.

I think the subject of Jalan Lam Sam and Track 22 is to find out whether there is a through road from Bricklands Road to Jurong Road and not whether it is a military area.Originally posted by delonchew:Yes, you are right. Hmm, I wasn't exactly referring to your post but so happened that I quoted to reply in the first paragraph. Sorry.Originally posted by Yusry:I think the subject of Jalan Lam Sam and Track 22 is to find out whether there is a through road from Bricklands Road to Jurong Road and not whether it is a military area.
There's a gate at the end of Jln Lam Sam. I saw it myself when I go there as NSF in late 2001. Not sure whether it's still there.Originally posted by Yusry:My 2 cents worth about Jalan Lam Sam.

Anyway, I personally think it is best not to discuss army stuff, especially military secrets because you do not know who is reading this forum and whatever you reveal could be potentially dangerous.
that's rightOriginally posted by tranquilice:Which medical centre are you referring to? Is it the one where service 214E/820/378/103 used to loop?
Along Piccadilly Road, there is another gate with RP post after this medical centre (towards Piccadilly Rd end). This is known as the Seletar East camp gate. People who enter thru this gate have to get a pass from the guardroom at the main gate (near the former Jln Kayu terminal).Originally posted by gynobcard:that's right![]()
That is correct. The gate is after the cement factory of Track 22. There is indeed a THROUGH road.Originally posted by tranquilice:There's a gate at the end of Jln Lam Sam. I saw it myself when I go there as NSF in late 2001. Not sure whether it's still there.
