announce the description of every bus stop they stop at???
Or at least have a display panel inide the buses to show the next bus stop?
What do u think??

It sounds logical but many drivers aren't fluent in English, to ask them to announce the destination would be a troublesome feat. I wouldn't mind having this service, personally though.Originally posted by loudmonkey:announce the description of every bus stop they stop at???

It would it be too troublesome. But it is a great idea. Why dont they just install a screen on the bus with rolling words like the SMRT Habits? And show something like "NEXT STOP: JLN BESAR (HOA NAM BLDG)".

That is logical but you obviously don't expect tourists to know where they are going, do you? Perhaps Sentosa style should be adopted. If the bus drivers can press on the machines to indicate the stages, then the display board would display the next destinantion or bus stop.
Actually the sound system is ok, provided there is no TV Mobile Anyway I never like my bus rides to be noisy.
I have seen in other countries, there is a TV screen on every bus, at the bottom they indicate the next bus stop, and the rest is used for programmes or advertisements, something like Channelnewsasia format, where they display the news at the bottom of the screen. Our TV Mobile techonology is sadly out of date. -

It is a good idea. But I don't really find that having this things useful. They would be expensive, and furthermore, Singapore is a small place.

Not pratical in my opinon (expensive), and may be annoying to some commuters (like me!
) if this is to be implemented islandwide.
It is only really useful when used on 'tourist' routes. In London, RV1 (Riverside) has this system for tourists' information. -
Yes perhaps they should be installed on tourist routes like Sv 36 or 138.
