Btw, our forumites are currently doing or have finished transcripting some of the guides:
1979-80: Currently in progress (I do the translation also.)
1980-81: Suhirman done it. Darryl's concised edition not finished.
1982: Surhirman done it.
1986: Suhirman currently doing. (Btw, Jack also is it? or is he doing 1988?)
1992: Malcolm doing.
More transcripts coming our way...
but not the 1971 bus guide found in NAS. The chinese words I see until gong liaoz... who's free to do 1964 can go NAS find. -

I've compiled the 1986 guide up to sv. 186. I'm also concurrently making a soft copy of the 1985 guide too (now at sv 229). I'm going to finish up on the 1985 guide before continuing on the 1986 guide. It's much easier to compare a previous edition of a bus guide than to start a new one. Although I can compare with the 1982 guide but I find there's too much differences. Was thinking it might be easier if a database could be set up listing all the changes (major ones will do) to the routes that has happened over the years, instead of having every year's bus guide over and over again even if the route has stayed intact since hell knows when.
For eg:
2002: changes taken place
extension of service 371
extension of service 136 to Punggol
withdrawal of service 323 & 227
new service 3 & 38 (details:.....)
integrated services 182 & 183
new service 161 (details: ...)

After comparing guides from 3 different years, there aren't that much difference at all. I think the major changes come about with the gradual opening of the MRT system from 1988 -1990.
