Kim Keat Link and Kim Keat Rd, by conversion of Jln TPY to PIE. Any other such places? How about your area, Clementi and Clementi West?Originally posted by tranquilice:Toa Payoh and Potong Pasir too. Division by CTE.

If I'm not wrong, yes. Interested to know if your area was under one region but split up by the AYE.Originally posted by tranquilice:You mean Kim Keat Link and Kim Keat Rd used to join one another?
What do you wish to know about my area?
I guess there's none in my area. AYE was formerly a normal road bulit in late 1970s or early 1980s.Originally posted by SBS9818A:If I'm not wrong, yes. Interested to know if your area was under one region but split up by the AYE.
Thus I presume Clementi was built around that road, and it got converted to the AYE soon after? What was the name of that road?Originally posted by tranquilice:I guess there's none in my area. AYE was formerly a normal road bulit in late 1970s or early 1980s.
The road you mentioned is Upp Ayer Rajah Rd (between Clementi Rd and Jurong Town Hall Rd). Ayer Rajah Rd was from Clementi Rd to Alexandra Rd. They were converted to AYE sometime in the 1980s.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Thus I presume Clementi was built around that road, and it got converted to the AYE soon after? You come from Clementi?Originally posted by tranquilice:The road you mentioned is Upp Ayer Rajah Rd (between Clementi Rd and Jurong Town Hall Rd). Ayer Rajah Rd was from Clementi Rd to Alexandra Rd. They were converted to AYE sometime in the 1980s.
Map of Clementi in 1966
As you can see on the map, Clementi Rd, West Coast Rd, Pasir Panjang Rd, Dover Rd etc have existed from the 1960s.
Map is taken from http://www.ura.gov.sg/dgp_reports/clementi/int-hist.html
Yes. I live in Clementi West.Originally posted by iveco:You come from Clementi?
Give me a hi 5, man.
I must agree. Just think Pythagora's Theorem and you'll see what I mean.Originally posted by supremebull:Back to topic...keep 38 as it provides Tampines residents with a direct link to Expo
People dun really mind about the winding part in Simei because it is not really not that long, and yes, Tampines residents would be crazy to use the MRT to get to the Expo because it is like going 2 stops ahead then going back 1 and the Expo station location makes you walk a much longer distance than the busstops on Upp Changi Rd East
Nope, it doesn't. It is one of the essential services connecting Tampines North Neighbourhood with Bedok and vice versa.Originally posted by carbikebus:How about sv 18?Does it need to reroute or looping somewhere else,Frankly speaking it is almost redundant service.
18 can be merged into 168. Then maybe SBST can be forced to increase Sv 168's frequencyOriginally posted by Superbus:Nope, it doesn't. It is one of the essential services connecting Tampines North Neighbourhood with Bedok and vice versa.
18 can be merged with 7 to form 18 (TAM-CLE)Originally posted by carbikebus:How about sv 18?Does it need to reroute or looping somewhere else,Frankly speaking it is almost redundant service.
Sv 135 should terminate at Upp East Coast IMO.
Sv 61& 961 should shortened or ply some expressway to its route,I don't mind if the long journey is almost straight rather than winding ones.
Sv 51 No comments after the extension to Hougang Central. But too long and winding though.
Sv 68 Should extends its operation hours.
Sv 63 should cut short to Bt Merah Inter,So possibility of deploying DDs.Bt Merah can amended or introduced a svs to Rumah Tinggi.
Sv 11 needs to reroute to ply Kg Ubi Industrial Estates via Geylang East.
Sv 502 need to ply expressway.![]()

why not 502 + 56? BIS - BNL =)Originally posted by SBS9818A:Sv. 502 can be merged with Sv. 97.
Sv 23 used to loop at Tomlinson Rd, serving Orchard Rd, but was cut back to Rochor Canal Rd after NSL opened.Originally posted by supremebull:Service 23 should go deeper into the city, for example loop at Stamford Rd and turn back via Selegie Rd.
Pretty weird for 23 to end at Rochor Canal Rd and turn back. Any particular reason for the loop there? Did it serve anyone else other than the Sim Lim Square visitors?
No point, I still want some link to town area. Although I know both of us would love a decent BNL service.Originally posted by freakybuses:why not 502 + 56? BIS - BNL =)
The ex 852 (YIS-BNL) was very memorable in a sense that it was the first time I went to Jurong Bird Park... good old days in 1994...Originally posted by SBS9818A:No point, I still want some link to town area. Although I know both of us would love a decent BNL service.![]()
Because it passed by the Bird Park on its way to BNL huh?Originally posted by freakybuses:The ex 852 (YIS-BNL) was very memorable in a sense that it was the first time I went to Jurong Bird Park... good old days in 1994...
Nope... the last time I took a direct bus to Boon Lay.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Because it passed by the Bird Park on its way to BNL huh?
If you want to know why there's so many services connecting Tampines and Bedok... simple..Originally posted by leeJZ:18 can be merged into 168. Then maybe SBST can be forced to increase Sv 168's frequency
btw the TAM - BDK market is very overserved...look at the number of services...
Connecting to BDK Stn / Int : 9 17 18 28 31 38 67 69 168 = 9 services
Connecting to other parts of BDK : 8 15 21 22 23 65 = 6 services
15 services serving the Tampines - Bedok market!
but in all directions. btw, 133 goes south after that.Originally posted by service_238:If you want to know why there's so many services connecting Tampines and Bedok... simple..
From Tampines to other parts of singapore except the north east and far north, services still need to go past Bedok mahz... easy logic... same for Ang Mo Kio and Serangoon.. 22 24 70 76 133 135 136 connects the AMK - SGN market.
If you noticed these AMK services are heading east.
