Some drivers break, some would rather reach WDL earlier.Originally posted by gynobcard:where do svc 858X buses terminate? (ie those buses leaving WRI after 2313hrs) "Yishun" is a very vague term...
also, moi took 858 from PTB1 to WRI today... surprisingly the driver did not take e usual 5 min break. he drove off immediately after allowing pax to board/alight...
All along I thought that it will turn into Yishun Int and terminate there.Originally posted by service_238:858X terminate at Yishun Ave 2 (Blk 923)
Yes, after the pax alighted at blk 923. The service 858X you mentioned is actually service 858A.Originally posted by sbs&tibs:All along I thought that it will turn into Yishun Int and terminate there.
As indicated in the bus guide, service 858A operates during the morning peak hours only. It terminates along Yishun Ave 2 outside Blk 923.Originally posted by off_service:Yes, after the pax alighted at blk 923. The service 858X you mentioned is actually service 858A.

Service 858X is the service that departs from WRI after 11.13pm (the last bus to Changi Airport departs at 11.13pm from WRI). I guess it terminates at the last stop along Yishun Ave 2 (the bus guide only indicates the termination point as Yishun).
This causes inconvenience to pax alighting after Blk 923.Originally posted by SBST390:it terminates os blk 923.last stop before YIS int
If I'm not wrong, after 11.13pm, only the destination part of the EDS changes, and not the service number? So there's only 858 YISHUN, am I right?Originally posted by tranquilice:As indicated in the bus guide, service 858A operates during the morning peak hours only. The service number remains as 858.Originally posted by SBS9818A:If I'm not wrong, after 11.13pm, only the destination part of the EDS changes, and not the service number? So there's only 858 YISHUN, am I right?
Sorry, I'm not sure but I'm compelled to think Yishun Int.Originally posted by tranquilice:The service number remains as 858.
Do you know the destination stop? Is it the same that forumite SBST390 mentioned?
I've seen many buses of service 858 displaying 858A. Not sure about now.Originally posted by tranquilice:The service number remains as 858.

Service 858A is a shortworking service in the morning peak (as indicated in bus guide). What time of the day did you saw the buses?Originally posted by off_service:I've seen many buses of service 858 displaying 858A. Not sure about now.
Perhaps to prevent confusion as people would think 858 goes to Changi Airport only?Originally posted by off_service:I've seen many buses of service 858 displaying 858A. Not sure about now.
I saw the buses leaving WRI ard 2330 hours.Originally posted by tranquilice:Service 858A is a shortworking service in the morning peak (as indicated in bus guide). What time of the day did you saw the buses?
Think you are right. Since the trips after 2313 hours terminates at Yishun Ave 2 (Blk 923), which is the exact same route of service 858A.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Perhaps to prevent confusion as people would think 858 goes to Changi Airport only?
Since its the same route, can use the same suffix, albeit "illegally" in a sense, but its mainly a move to prevent confusion.Originally posted by off_service:Think you are right. Since the trips after 2313 hours terminates at Yishun Ave 2 (Blk 923), which is the exact same route of service 858A.
