Once 22 is gone, Many AMKsians will have to transfer at unknown stops and board another unknown bus. And later problems arose as people may not know where to stop! Maybe LeeJZ does not know the characters of AMKsians... And his place is so good that he can travel to most places without transferring.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Transferring is a hassle. Just because you feel this service should be withdrawn doesn't mean PTC will think that way. They will only chop parts of a route that duplicates MRT lines, so I think Sv. 22 is here to stay.
If PTC only chops the CCL parts, then 22 should become a Tampines - MacPherson Estate loop service...AMK will still loose it.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Transferring is a hassle. If 162 is really gone.... see what I will do... No direct links to the whole stretch of Orchard Rd. 132 only stops at Orchard MRT only...
Yes, Tampines is too convenient, not so for Central districts like Bishan and AMK. We don't have the luxury of three services to Tampines, like TPY, or 2 services to Jurong East.Originally posted by freakybuses:Once 22 is gone, Many AMKsians will have to transfer at unknown stops and board another unknown bus. Sv 10 doesnt go to my place (Loyang Ave - Blk 149A / Opp Blk 149A or Upp Changi Rd North) and its too slow anyway, better to take 30.Originally posted by carbikebus:[quote]Originally posted by leeJZ:

Didn't sv 10 plies Harbourfront Lee JZ?
From AMK, there is MRT to Orchard Road. In fact, you have a choice of 3 stops to get off.Originally posted by freakybuses:Once 22 is gone, Many AMKsians will have to transfer at unknown stops and board another unknown bus. Still more accessible than AMK or Bishan.Originally posted by leeJZ:Sv 10 doesnt go to my place (Loyang Ave - Blk 149A / Opp Blk 149A or Upp Changi Rd North) and its too slow anyway, better to take 30.
Bishan links need improvement I agree. But Ang Mo Kio? NO.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Still more accessible than AMK or Bishan.
Ang Mo Kio does need improvement. It has relatively poor links to the West.Originally posted by leeJZ:Bishan links need improvement I agree. But Ang Mo Kio? NO.
They have 74 (Bukit Timah / Clementi Northeast / Dover), 165 (Holland / Ulu Pandan / Clementi), 166 (HarbourFront / Alexandra / Dover / C'wealth Ave), 852 (Bukit Timah / Bukit Batok)...relatively poor? Quite good actually!Originally posted by SBS9818A:Ang Mo Kio does need improvement. It has relatively poor links to the West.
Not good at all. The links are quite pathetic.Originally posted by leeJZ:They have 74 (Bukit Timah / Clementi Northeast / Dover), 165 (Holland / Ulu Pandan / Clementi), 166 (HarbourFront / Alexandra / Dover / C'wealth Ave), 852 (Bukit Timah / Bukit Batok)...relatively poor? Quite good actually!
Pathetic? 165 alone can provide a reasonably fast link to the west, where they can change at MRT line. Yishun has worse links to the west...852, 855, 171 only...do not even stop at any western MRT station.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Not good at all. The links are quite pathetic.
165 fast meh? Took me at least 1 hr to get to Clementi... butt pain also! Yishun got 171 connecting via Mandai. 138 has no chance connecting the west... forget about it.Originally posted by leeJZ:Pathetic? 165 alone can provide a reasonably fast link to the west, where they can change at MRT line. btw, these places that buses from AMK go are not far west with populated people. Most people go Jurong and yet, they find it hard to reach. 166 goes 1 hr 20 min at least to go Dover. 852 and 74 duplicates from AMK Ave 6 all the way to Bt Timah Rd. No variety of routes to go.Originally posted by leeJZ:They have 74 (Bukit Timah / Clementi Northeast / Dover), 165 (Holland / Ulu Pandan / Clementi), 166 (HarbourFront / Alexandra / Dover / C'wealth Ave), 852 (Bukit Timah / Bukit Batok)...relatively poor? Tampines and Bedok are more connected to the west than AMK.Originally posted by leeJZ:Well, you cannot expect all towns to be as well connected as SBST's baby Toa Payoh...AMK is already quite well connected...![]()
MRT too crowded. Even other towns have links to Orchard Rd. AMK only got it 2 years ago with 162! 132 not counted as it does not go deep into Orchard area.Originally posted by iveco:From AMK, there is MRT to Orchard Road. In fact, you have a choice of 3 stops to get off.
Who would take those Bedok services to the west...even the shortest of them 7 32 33 takes at least 1h 15min. 14 takes up to 2h...Originally posted by freakybuses:Tampines and Bedok are more connected to the west than AMK.

Time taken to go west from AMK: 1 hour 20 minutes at least.
Proves that Tampines has a nearby town to link to the west with more variety of routes and places to go in the West towns.
Those transfers will take at least 1.5 hrs. Blame on the long winded routes in TPY costing 35 mins.Originally posted by leeJZ:Who would take those Bedok services to the west...even the shortest of them 7 32 33 takes at least 1h 15min. 14 takes up to 2h...
If AMK people dont mind transfers...they can go down to Jln TPY and take 985, then transfer 174 / 66 to Boon Lay / Jurong East respectively. Or just take 852 then transfer to 174 / 66 at Bukit Batok.
Tampines has no bus route into Orchard Road since 23 was cut short. Unless 111 integrates with 23 or 7 merges with 18.Originally posted by freakybuses:MRT too crowded. Holland Drive can Sv 23 -> Sv 61...but a bit winding though.Originally posted by supremebull:MRT is another option from Tampines to Orchard Rd, but since this is a Bus Board i think my post is irrevelant.
I live in Tampines so i have a relatively good idea of how accessible are other places from Tampines. I think that the Holland Drive area and the Bukit Merah are the most inaccessible areas if you take bus from Tampines. 65 drops you at Lower Delta and you have to walk to BM central
