Some questions of SMRT 950

950 will be started to operate soon. But, I have some questions to know.
1, 950 is go to where?
2, Which type of buses will be used?
I hope sombody to give more information about it,thanks

950 is the bus service that TIBS (now SMRTBuses) will operate from Woodlands Interchange to Johor Bahru (Malaysia). as for bus fleet i'm not sure about it.

Think it's full O405s. Until now 2 buses, namely 12 metres Mercedes O405s are fitted with 3rd brake lights. -
How are they going to make space at the Woodlands Checkpoint and the JB checkpoint for the SMRT Bus Service 950 bus berths or boarding point? AFAIK, the Woodlands Checkpoint has space but what about the massively overcrowded JB checkpoint?
And are SMRT Bus going to hire new drivers just for 950? -

will try to pong Kota Raya Terminal & Larkin Terminal when i can tis wkend. hope to see something interesting.

KotaRaya Terminal* is very quiet. Just a big open space with 2 busstops. Basically... According to me sources, current SMRT service captains chose their way into Service 950, I suppose around 50? -

been to jb tis morning. kota raya 2 have excess space for new services to come in, but there are no new signs or anything suggesting any new service will start from there. tried to recee at larkin but no leads too. jus spotted causeway link's larkin - queen st (by right is from august not now) & larkin - kranji mrt notice ready but facing the bus berth and not passenger area. no signs of tibs or smrtb.

It's not some are Malaysian service captains but ALL of them, regardless of whether they had been granted Singapore Permanent Residents or not, as long as they're Malaysians. Please do take note that Singaporean service captains or bus captains are NEVER allowed on both Service 170 and future Service 950. -

Basically... Perhaps that's what I thought so, but it could interfere immigration reasons too. Anyway, the source's from one of me service captain friends who had came from SBST. His depot operates Service 170, thus BBDEP but he's based in ARBP. Service 170 never had Singaporean bus captains, and that would apply for Service 950 service captains too. -
Then what route will Service 950 take from Woodlands Regional Interchange to Woodlands Crossing? A direct Woodlands Ave 3 - Woodlands Centre Road route or a windabout Marsiling route? If the route from WRI to Checkpoint is a direct one then it would really help to relieve the congestion on the 911 and 913 feeder services in the Checkpoint direction.

my guess is that 911's checkpoint direction will be cut out to 950 and 911 will retain only its dr 83 sector under the same number 911. thus:
Wodlands Regional Interchange, (Woodlands Ave 3), St 11, Centre Rd, Woodlands Checkpoint, JB Checkpoint, (... Jln Air Molek ...), Kota Raya 2 Terminal. (jus like CW1 and 170X)
anyway, on my recee trip to JB, i've found no traces of 950. some points:
there are no new railings made for any new services at Woodlands Checkpoint. fyi, CW1 operates out of a makeshift railing and i suppose 950 will have to bear with that too. and the signages only have SJE (Singapore-Johor Express) and SBS but no CW and SMRTB. the congestion at the coaches lane is already unbearable during peak hours. it will surely get worse if 950 comes in. i wonder if there is over-demand. the Queen St - Larkin route has been approved by MY authorities. boarding a CW1 bus, u will most likely find a copy of the approved route sheet, just like 170 buses. some changes coming up:
CW1 ([Fare] Stage Bus): goes from Larkin to Kranji MRT as per now, then down Upp Bt Timah Rd & Bt Timah/Dunearn Rd as per 170, jus that it stops on alternate stops only. yes, the route shows things like "King Albert's Park, Blissvale, Sixth Ave, National JC, Coronation Plaza etc".
CW2 (Express Bus): details not not, but presumably an express version of 170. now, tis could be a real competitor to SBST's 170.
these changes will take effect sometime in August. -

Any indication of the proposed Causeway Link service between Larkin and Jurong East via Second Link?

Maybe, but CWL is not willing to use ez-link payment. What's more, 170 is also facing compeition from 171 or 67 as well. But you have habits on 67 on certain parts aft Bukit Panjang. Also, people avoid as we would rather support our services.
