SBST low demand routes (Profitable as well)

It is 10 mins during off peak, look at the SBS timetable at the TV screen. If buses arrive early, isn't the frequency going to be more than 10 mins if the behind trip is on time? I have in fact caught some drivers arriving very early, I have since reported the matter. cant u just shut your gap and dont complain? If you dont complain they wont know! lucky thing i still have 238 and i dont think SBST will stagger the waiting time during certain times of the day. For one thing, even if I quiet, they will still know as many will still complain and they do periodic checks on bus svs through the Ez-link system, that's how they adjust frequency over time. They DONT just response to just 1 persons complain.
The Ez-link system gives 100% accuracy in loading and high demand areas. -

963: Bt Panjang to PSA Bldg stretch
964: 1 direction peak hr demand, average during off peak
965: Yishun to Sengkang stretch
966: Average, high demand on weekend (15 min frequency though)
969: Yishun and Tampines stretch (Seems to have been affected by 39)
970: Average
980: Peak hr demand high (Upp Thomson to Bugis), off peak average
981: High
985: Former 185 rt demand higher -
services such as 284 can be simply scrapped because it's not cost effective to serve just one street of residents. other services such as 285 can be realigned to serve this street.

btw, do you think some G/W services can be simply merged instead? Like back at Toa Payoh, I observe that service 231G has 2 buses leaving the interchange each time with empty buses, and 231W leaving the interchange within the same time period with ONLY 1 BUS and it is near 1/2 packed. -
Well.. i do must add something here.... for what i have observe.. 238 do have a very large number of passenger.. this was due to that TYP used to have 237 and 235(if iM nT wrong..) after moving to the new Interchange, service 237 and 235 was scrapped.. service 232 had to make some adjustment.. coz of the loast of 235 and 237, people had no choice but to take 238.. this is the reason why you can see a very large number of people taking 238 in the evening after office hours.. loading is alwayz full at interchange.. iN the morning.. its mostly the senior citizens who take 238 from TYP interchange.. going to Toa Payoh Lor 8.. Toa Payoh Polyclinic.... that is why..

284 will not be scrapped. the street it serves its as good as 238 serving lor 8 and 317 serving s'goon gdns
231G doesnt leave 2 at one go. 231G comes first, then 2-3 min later, 231W will arrive. its not both G buses or W buses. -
284 & 285 can form a townlink.
235 is still around.
403 is better off as a feeder. -

these areas used to have 232 237. However, when these 2 merge, the pax load go to 238. Thanks to this, 238 has a better freq of 3-4min during peak and 4-6 min off peak

Does 238 pass by places where there are overhead bridges? Because from my 4 years at secondary school in Bishan, I notice that in 2001, service 410 has deployed older double decks + single decks aircon. I believe passengers won't mind if there's non-aircon double decks because there's more seating space. If there's overhead bridges which does not allow double-deckers then can't help. Passengers have to suffer under this sardine-can situation then.
There had been a few times when at TPY interchange, I was waiting for 231W but the queue for 231G is empty. Then one 231G will drive by, then leave the berth. After a while the queue for 231G has only a few passengers (can count with a hand) but 231W queue already stretch into 163/157 area. Then another 231G come together with 231W. I suspect something's wrong with the timetabling.. -

238 justifies for double decks. However, due to the number of old folk using the service, it'd be very troublesome for them to move around in a DD. As for your 231 thingy, the general public abide by this rule: take the first bus that come. as long as i can reach my destination, good enough. -
That doesnt mean that they do not move to the upper deckz.. TownLink Service 291 even got VO3x in their fleet.. and.. Even if people are taking 3 stops.. they do also move to the Upper Deck of the bus... REASOn iS DAmm SImple.. 88 do not ply Upp Serangoon Rd.. after Punggol Park, it turn right into Hougang AVe 8.. for 136, it uses Upp Serangoon Rdall the way.. it doesnt ply Punggol Rd At All.. (xcept for a very small part before TPE..) for 82, it uses Punggol Rd all the way from Punggol End.. except the part when it turn into the Punggol Central.. other than that, it ply the whole of Punggol Rd.. which can get quite crowded at times especially before and after school.. that is the reason why ppl choose 82 and not 136...
