That is Yishun, with a semi-express service. If you go from someplace elsewhere without an express service to the airport (ie central / western district), taxi or MRT would be more convinient. Plus it would quite troublesome hauling luggage up buses without a standing area (27 36).Originally posted by TIB1186Z:Think again before you start making sweeping statements.
If you had noticed carefully which i seriously think you don't, many pax including me take Svc 858 from Yishun/Chong Pang area to the airport and back. Its quite easy with a 27 inch luggage to haul up and down the bus since its mostly express anyway. It only costs $1.43 for an adult to go from Yishun MRT to Changi Airport in approx 30mins, while a taxi gets you there more than 10times the amount in approx 20mins. In fact, i had pulled it off 3 times during different time frames without much problem.
Not true, when there was 16E, there was quite a lot passengers with baggage from CBD.Originally posted by leeJZ:That is Yishun, with a semi-express service. Anyway, there is already 188 from HBF to Kent Ridge and I can safely assure you that the loads are not very high.

Em, AirAsia may be thinking of using the budget terminal instead.Originally posted by vasanth:I think the best thing to do about an Airport Express is to have one ply between Seletar Airport and Changi aprx 45 min after and an hour before an AirAsia plane arrives at the airport. Not practical as 186 is already low in demand, like this it will go "burst"Originally posted by gohby:Marina South Ter
Can make 400 integrate with 186. Can tear down shenton way ter and divert the shenton way buses to marina south. 130 will stay as alternative however.
I have to be harsh here with twerps like you.Originally posted by sbst275:Not practical as 186 is already low in demand, like this it will go "burst"
But that is never going to be a practical way... If it is going to be not profitable, the cost is going higher as you may need 2 more buses to maintain the frequency.Originally posted by gohby:I have to be harsh here with twerps like you.
IF Shenton Way is EVER GOING to be replaced by that "dream" Marina South Interchange, all the buses serving Shenton Way Terminal should be extended Marina South Terminal [Unless there is a better bus route]. IF THATS the case, 186 will have to be extended to Marina South Int anyway. If you think 186, making an extra loop round Marina South area will make it burst, then i suggest you bursting your head by banging to the wall. Then, you smart aleck, what do you suggest about 400 then? Make it start from Marina South Int and make a round around Marina South area then loop at shenton way ter ah? Why leave such a service while you can easily integrate with some other service?
That will really depends. The extra ERP charges if you merge the two services together is going to be quite insignificant. It is not going to cost a bomb or something. Remember. The new quay is located at Marina South and there are numerous plans at Marina South. So, loadings around Marina South will improve eventually.Originally posted by yoongf:Svc 186 and Svc 400...
Svc 400 is not exactly a trunk Svc.. which is really to bring ppl from residential to city areas while Svc 186 is a true trunk svc. As such, both have different standards to meet. Based on current loading profile, if both services were to merge, imagine the extra ERP charges incurred. Marina South is outside CBD. Also, Svc 400 does not opearate before 9am and the headway is much longer than Svc 186. Merging, would mean more mileage than currently, unless there's tons of short working trips.
Unless... Marina South starts building residential units, or the PTC zones the new downtown as an additional major corridor (currently got 3), it is unlikely to see any significant changes to that area.
