Its not fair, why do feeders get most of the 12XX habits and ALL except two or three volgren bendies? Trunk svcs should get them instead. So, here we are, with 960,190,851,etc getting 11XX and 10XX habits and even the 8XX 9XX onez, and the feeders get the new ones? Wheres the fairness? sbst have the habit, imo, of showing off their new buses on "prominent" or high load svcs, like striders making their debut on 16 & 67, VSOs on woodlands svcs & 133, Volvo B10BLE-CNG buses on 105.
actually smrt buses does/did put some of their newer 1148+ & 12xx buses on trunk services (cameo/ wkend cameo or perm), for example 67, 169, 180, 187, 188, 190, 700, 851, 960, 963 & 969, especially 180, 963 & 969.
also, Mk4 striders are destined to be the replacement for Mk3's for its 170 JB-bound svc. thus do expect some tapering of their deployment significance gradually throughtout the next few years. thus, i expect Mk4 strider perms on feeder svcs (especially bbdep areas like jurong east, boon lay, clementi, buona vista) will become more common in the future.
