Withdrawl of CSS 605
from Sunday, 5th September 2004
CSS 605 which operates from Sin Ming Road Terminal to Bukit Merah Interchange will be withdrawn from Sunday, 5th September 2004. The last day of its operation is Saturday, 4th September 2004.
We thank all customers for their support and regret (for) any inconvenience caused. -
Why not extend it to something like Yishun and convert to SMRTB service? 608 is quite popular, seen @ Upp Thomson Rd during morning peak myself.

They can't extend the sv due to regulation as they are scheme B rts
605 demand is very low during off peak with like 10 passengers at any time -

607 used to connect Moulmein Rd to Bencoolen St and Shenton Way. Now the links are gone. Very soon, Maxwell Road will see its bus stops vanish.

608 should be given to SBS in exchange for 39.

Yep yesterday a svc 178 Scania was quite full (full seating, maybe 20-30% standing capacity filled) @ Bukit Batok Central, 4:15pm. Its the only service to parts of southern Jurong West (corporation area).
189 is also not "dead", load is still acceptable.
Most of us know off peak as 0900 - 1630 and 1900 - 2400.
969 and 39 serve different markets. 39 serves Yishun - Pasir Ris traffic, Yishun - Changi traffic, while 969 serves Yishun - Tampines traffic, Yishun - Simei traffic, Yishun - Bedok traffic etc etc.
969 is NOT trying hard to survive. It is still doing very well and virtually every trip during weekends / peak goes out with standing pax, even with bendies. There are still alot of bendies during weekends and a fair number on Thurs / Fri.
