The service is provided by ComfortBus. Ascendas manages Science Park I and II.Originally posted by ^tamago^:i have been to science park rd. there are bus stops already, and they are used by internal shuttle bus and the shuttle bus to clementi mrt, both provided by acsendas. they charge only $0.60 for the shuttle to clementi mrt. i wonder if svc 183 will be competitive enough, since its fare will be $0.83 and it is not express.
Pathetic 183 only have 4 of 507 buses, info given by freakybuses. On the first day of operation, the bus we took was callled in by Green martian into KRT and there was a 183 guide stick on the pole of the bus stop in KRT.Originally posted by tranquilice:Service 183 buses use the SBSL livery buses from ex-Express 507. In other words, the buses of Express 507 are now deployed on service 183.
The bus will then turn left into Kent Ridge terminal, but no boarding and alighting is allowed here, the bus will then exits the terminal by turning right into Clementi Rd and call at the bus stop opposite the terminal, and then continue to Jurong East interchange.
183 takes the whole of 507.Originally posted by sbs&tibs:Pathetic 183 only have 4 of 507 buses, info given by freakybuses. On the first day of operation, the bus we took was callled in by Green martian into KRT and there was a 183 guide stick on the pole of the bus stop in KRT.
This feeder will be withdrawn. They are just trying to buy time. Dun forget, they won't complete as they are under Singapore's and World's 3rd largest transport co - ComfortDelgro.Originally posted by ^tamago^:i have been to science park rd. there are bus stops already, and they are used by internal shuttle bus and the shuttle bus to clementi mrt, both provided by acsendas. they charge only $0.60 for the shuttle to clementi mrt. i wonder if svc 183 will be competitive enough, since its fare will be $0.83 and it is not express.
No, if it is $0.83, aft rebate from transfer (W MRT) is $0.58 So it is $0.02 cheaper. You cannot take Comfortbus with this as they pay cashOriginally posted by ^tamago^:i wonder if commuters will voice their disappointment at having to pay more for their transport needs. but if we look at the calculation, the transfer rebate (assuming they do not live along 183 route) will cover the increase in fares due to taking 183 (25 cents rebate vs 23 cents rise = 2 cents savings!).
Not much on weekends but not sure about the loads on Weekdays.Originally posted by Airbus330Captain:How is the load factor for bus 183 ?
I think the 15 min frequency during peak hr tells it allOriginally posted by sbs&tibs:Not much on weekends but not sure about the loads on Weekdays.
u all tear out the paper then paste back ar? the scotch tape i saw jus now looks new.Originally posted by Yusry:Underneath the paper desto at 183's JRE Queueing berth is 183 - Science Park Road
No, all loop services have a "A" prefix to state its direction. You can't have a 'L' as it is akward as you have 'A' and 'B'Originally posted by ^tamago^:u all tear out the paper then paste back ar? the scotch tape i saw jus now looks new.
anyway, BCs are required to enter '183A' for the service number on the IDFC, so JRE-KRT is like a shortworking trip. since they made metal destos, i may not be extending it soon. also, they might want to wait for science park rd to be linked up (u/c now) with zehnder rd and south buona vista rd since i dun see any roundabout there.
no no, it's not 183 for one direction and 183A for backwards direction, but it's 183A for the whole loop. for IDFC, loop services do not state a direction but merely follow a single-directional route and turning back midway. or else the VLS problem of loop svcs being detected as being on opposite side of a narrow road won't occur since the direction & hence location would have been clear to the IDFC.Originally posted by sbst275:No, all loop services have a "A" prefix to state its direction. It may just go to Science Pk II (It is called that) and not Sth Buona Vista Rd. 183 is as if like a feeder to other trunk services to serve "ulu" places like industries at Toh Guan Rd East.
How does service 92 buses loop at Science Park Dr? Any rounabout there?Originally posted by ^tamago^:u all tear out the paper then paste back ar? the scotch tape i saw jus now looks new.

They do use A on the computer (Ez-link). A is for entire journey and not for half way, if that's so, there will be 'B'Originally posted by ^tamago^:no no, it's not 183 for one direction and 183A for backwards direction, but it's 183A for the whole loop. for IDFC, loop services do not state a direction but merely follow a single-directional route and turning back midway. or else the VLS problem of loop svcs being detected as being on opposite side of a narrow road won't occur since the direction & hence location would have been clear to the IDFC.
the number 183A suggests it is a supplementary route to a originally extended route.
as for south buona vista rd, it may be a way for the buses to turn back by turning into science park rd from south buona vista rd and exiting back at pasir panjang rd. i suggested tis possibility cos they happen to be building an entrance into science park rd via south buona vista rd.
