Sv. 160 will be introduced on 5 Sept 2004, plying between Jurong East and JB.

i think they must have been pressurized by SMRTB's proposed launch of 950 around this time. conincidentally that is the date SMRTB will free up wldep for 950. -
i think the first day it runs, i'll go take it to work to see how it goes

I dun think (Really) 950 can complete. It is at Woodlands Int. People would rather wait at Kranji as there are CW1, 160 and 170 serving.
160 rt - Jurong East, Bt Batok, Choa Chu Kang, Kranji, Woodlands, Kota Raya Terminal. As abt whether Bt Panjang, have to wait for offical announcement

I think 950 is coming up soon since wldep is clearing for space there.

Ok, the system is quite simple
1) You can make transfer between 160 and 170 bet the 2 checkpoints free
*Meaning, if I take 170 earlier, I can take 160 to JB Checkpoint from Woodlands w/o having to pay. Later, I take back 170 again. It can also be the other way round
2) Special rebates
$0.63 for adults $0.45 for students if swaping bet svs bet the 2 checkpoints
3) Faster clearance
Based on this, frequency will be better as it will be 1-4 mins at the checkpoint as there are abt 27 made in 1 hr
However, this means it is harder for Causeway Link to complete as it may be harder because of its frequency. It has been unpopular already to most as it does not accept ez-link card, making it expensive ($1.30) w/o rebates from the MRT ride while 170 cost $0.88 with rebate -
What abt the 2 other CW services? Jurong East - Larkin via 2nd Link and SJE rt?

I think they should run 950 from Turf City, since there is ample land there.
Route could go like this,
1.Bukit Timah Road(as it allows easier access for travellers from the east and central)
2.Jalan Jurong Kechil
3.Old Jurong Road
4.Hillview Avenue
5.Upp.Bukit Timah Road
6.Bukit Panjang Road
7.BKE
8.Woodlands Terminal
9.Kota Raya Terminal.(Johor) -

larkin by 170: +40 cents
kota raya ii by 170X: up to -20 cents (20 cents cheaper than 160-160)
kota raya ii by 160: +0 cents

why? cos u can transfer for free on 170 to kota raya ii from 160 while paying only fares up to w'lands checkpoint, but if u continue the journey on 160 the fare will continue to count as one whole trip on 160 from ur starting point.
i'm not sure if this bug will surface.
also:
the original pic is a bit misleading. for once, i thought the bus would stop on the way to kota raya ii since it shows the landmarks on the left side of the route (where it plies Jln Gertak Merah). on checking the map, i realised that they had placed the location of the landmark wrongly and it should be south of kota raya ii terminal, on jln trus also. so no new bus stops, it will ply express just like 170X. -

No, the extra rebate is only applicable bet the 2 checkpoints and not for others. This is just to allow faster clearance at the JB (To SGP) and SGP (To JB) Checkpoints. Dun compare Larkin as end fare stage is 38 while Kota Raya is 32, hence a dist gap meaning higher fares as it is a dist related sv. As for your comment abt 20cents more, I dun think so as you are as if reboarding 160 again. It is like taking 170 (Red) then Blue plate. regarding the 160-160 being +20 cents, tat was in comparison to transfering to 170X (160-170X), where u could get ur johor checkpoint to kota raya ii ter sector for free (3 stages = $0.63 but tis is waived). but if u took 160-160 u could be charged extra for the 3 fare stages (like u happen to be travelling for 8.0 stages to johor checkpoint on 160 so fare is $0.83 but 11.0 stages to kota raya ii will be $1.03 by ez-link).Originally posted by sbst275:No, the extra rebate is only applicable bet the 2 checkpoints and not for others. if tis prob does exists, debugging will not be easy since the route configuration they are looking at is very complicated (4 branches: larkin, kota raya ii, queen st & jurong east int). -
Again, as what you have said earlier, it is based on that you are as if reboarding for Sv 160 case, it is like those CACC services. As for 170X, I think better ask. But to get the free fares, play smart
I think they have done extensive testing on this as this service surely was not borned just overnight? -
i adjusted the post to up to -20 cents for 160-170X and +0 cents for 160-160 for jurong east side to kota raya ii.
