Now is correct, but I think SBST will do something to this when they see this loophole. Just keep quiet abt this matter when calling to CRCOriginally posted by ^tamago^:i adjusted the post to up to -20 cents for 160-170X and +0 cents for 160-160 for jurong east side to kota raya ii.
CW service was already approved by LTA and Malaysian authorities and was expected to start service tis month (from wat i can recall). try browsing past topics to look for the topic i've started on tis report that came out on the chinese newspapers.Originally posted by sbst275:What abt the 2 other CW services? Jurong East - Larkin via 2nd Link and SJE rt?
I dun think it will be a threat to 160 as it's compeitor is the Maju 262. SJE will be in trouble but Queen St terminal cannot accommdate another service already. I think will be next mth, Sept (Dun forget, today is still Aug)Originally posted by ^tamago^:CW service was already approved by LTA and Malaysian authorities and was expected to start service tis month (from wat i can recall). try browsing past topics to look for the topic i've started on tis report that came out on the chinese newspapers.
nope, but 160 - 170 (larkin) should be as usual, +20 (rare) or +40 cents. as for 170 - 160 - 170, it will depend on how they programmed the ez-link.Originally posted by sbst275:Have you calculated abt 170 - 160 - 170 or 160 - 170? It will be -$0.10 right? There is another loophole, 160 - 170X connection, it will be free but proability will be low as you won't be that lucky very day as you can't pick as the buses are all packed.

yeah, i actually meant aug, but i dun see it coming yet.Originally posted by sbst275:I dun think it will be a threat to 160 as it's compeitor is the Maju 262. I dun know abt this new one, but CW1 seems not be to popular with Malaysians as they do have rebates aft taking MRT using the card for taking 170. Fares will then be $0.88 CW1 is $1.30. In fact, many Malaysians prefer 170 because of thisOriginally posted by ^tamago^:yeah, i actually meant aug, but i dun see it coming yet.
as for CW's JIE-2nd Linnk-Larkin svc, it shld be popular to malaysian workers at tuas, considering it is a malaysian company, it is more convenient and direct that to go to jurong east to take 160. but before it comes, 160 will be helpful in a sense.
yes.Originally posted by sbst275:You see
Actual: $1.13
But new ways: $0.63 - $0.63 + $1.03 = $1.03 (-$0.10)
For 170 - 160 - 170
$0.63 - $0.63 + $1.03
The funniest topic I had ever since joining this forum 2 mths back.
I think they will as they have already given you $0.38 which is $0.13 more already. As for why I asked abt 170 - 160 - 170 as you may take 160 at Woodlands Checkpoint to go across JB CheckpintOriginally posted by ^tamago^:yes.
and the $0.63 cents for singapore to johor checkpoint leg happens to start at kranji mrt.
if the ez-link cards do not consider taking the same svc twice during a trip when handling rebates, ur johor checkpoint to larkin leg on 170 could well be just $0.83.
like u have said,Originally posted by sbst275:Again, as what you have said earlier, it is based on that you are as if reboarding for Sv 160 case, it is like those CACC services. As for 170X, I think better ask. But to get the free fares, play smart
Why do JB Mk IIIs need an extra brake light? I don't remember Intrakota's Turbocities having such fittings.Originally posted by tranquilice:The service will be using Mk3 buses (as expected), since only them have third brake rear light.
it came together with the ruling that malaysian cars and foreign-registered vehicles (or is it just cars) need to have the 3rd brake light for safety's sake after all the accidents in the north-south highway, esp when it's dark at night.Originally posted by iveco:Why do JB Mk IIIs need an extra brake light? Service 160 will only plies the outskirts of Bt Batok and Choa Chu Kang towns.Originally posted by sbst275:For 160 or CW2 (I put it), SMRT will be the biggest losers. With 950, they lose more as they are not at the main passengers area - Kranji. Who wants to stop at Woodlands and rely on 1 bus? SMRT lose out as commuters can just direct taking 160 from Jurong
But, Choa Chu Kang, Bt Batok residents stand to gain as they have a faster way to Woodlands Centre at the expense of SMRT (The terrority 'master')
For CACC, it is impossible for passengers to reboard the same bus they alight from. The buses won't wait for passengers to obtain their passes.Originally posted by service_238:like u have said,
for CACC, passengers reboard the same bus and same service.
for causeway, passengers reboard the same company and might be diff/same service.
same concept, just that its 2 diff services for the latter, regardless of distance travelled before this.
I guess it includes Singapore-registered coaches, as they ply the NS highway.Originally posted by ^tamago^:it came together with the ruling that malaysian cars and foreign-registered vehicles (or is it just cars) need to have the 3rd brake light for safety's sake after all the accidents in the north-south highway, esp when it's dark at night.
The map is confusing. Choa Chu Kang Rd is very long?Originally posted by tranquilice:Service 160 will only plies the outskirts of Bt Batok and Choa Chu Kang towns.
From the map diagram, service 160 route between Kranji MRT station and Woodlands checkpoint is different from service 170's. Service 160 seems it does not ply one round in Woodlands town centre, unlike service 170. Also from the map diagram, service 160 seems a loop service, as you can see the arrow pointing back to JB checkpoint after Kotaraya 2 terminal.
Except for the last bus. 170 as wellOriginally posted by tranquilice:For CACC, it is impossible for passengers to reboard the same bus they alight from. The buses won't wait for passengers to obtain their passes.
Duh, it's probably because it needs to GET INTO Woodlands before going out to JB? btw, fyi, KJ & SG Kadut is part of Woodlands.Originally posted by sbst275:The map is confusing. Choa Chu Kang Rd is very long?
Outskirts or not, it still serves the area at least. Passengers can still transfer as they have no choice like for Choa Chu Kang, there is no buses to Woodlands Centre. If it does not serve Woodlands Centre, then why SBS added Woodlands as well on its serving coverage?
No, you know how SBS puts it? It only puts HOUSING ESTATES it serves. Sungei Kadut and Kranji in this place is not part of Woodlands. In fact, Kranji is indicated as well.Originally posted by cck_190:Duh, it's probably because it needs to GET INTO Woodlands before going out to JB? btw, fyi, KJ & SG Kadut is part of Woodlands.
As for CCK Road, it doesn't make a big diff. Just pass by outside,![]()
