WaitOriginally posted by sbs&tibs:I guess 170X would be withdrawn as there will be CW1, 160 & 950 going to Kota Raya II.

Skipping some bus stopsOriginally posted by sbst275:What is meant by semi-express?
950 should operate from BPJ instead. It can exit BKE @ Turf CLub Link, proceed on to KRJ MRT and then towards JHB. Just my 2 pence worth.Originally posted by sbst275:Wait
170X frequency is too good, 1-4 mins during peak hrs. Of course they will stay it to complete with CW1 mainly.
950 will be the biggest loser as it will be from Woodlands, bypassing the main passenger concentration area - Kranji. Who would be willing to wait for just 950 at 1 interchange and cannot have faster clearance at the checkpoints? Passengers are very happy to take SBS services 160 and 170 due to the free transfer as now buses are waiting for people instead.
Not a very good idea, I against having MY buses serving head to head with our buses. Why should we let them eat into our domestic bussiness? Neither will they be as CW1 has proven it as it is at a disadvantage for not having Ez-link card.Originally posted by leeJZ:Skipping some bus stops![]()
Nope, on Monday(13sep), Woodlands TV had this advertisementOriginally posted by ^tamago^:Yishun Int's Next Bus Info TV has "New S/950: Woodlands - Kotaraya" on its ticker. The starter office at YI has confirmed it is starting on the 19th. The route will be same as 856, i.e. vi Marsiling MRT, Woodlands Town Garden then straight up to Woodlands Crossing.
This is the first and (up till post time) only publicity by SMRTB on 950.
I believe the frequency is 10-12 mins. But I think I will still stick to SBS as of the faster connection at the Checkpoint and Larkin.Originally posted by ^tamago^:Yishun Int's Next Bus Info TV has "New S/950: Woodlands - Kotaraya" on its ticker. no one told me...Originally posted by bus911:Nope, on Monday(13sep), Woodlands TV had this advertisement

950 is confirmed 100% to be off the launching pad on the 19th. bus stop notices are alrd up at woodlands ave 3. at woodlands int, banners are put up above the starter office & escalators to MRT, but no notices there yet. no official press releases have been found for 950.
at woodlands checkpoint's both directions, CW1's queue has been moved to the proper queues to be with 170/160/CW2 and SJE has stopped using 950's empty queue. but no 950 plate is put up yet. no 950 plates at kota raya ii terminal too.
the handal indah inspector told me CW2 was supposed to be launched on 15th aug but LTA postponed the launch date, probably due to svc 160 & 950's launch.
Freq:
AM Peak 8-9mins
AM Off-Peak 8-10mins
PM Peak 7-10mins
PM Off-Peak 10-15mins
Operating Hours:
Woodlands 0530-2330 daily
KotaRaya II 0530-2400 daily, except sun 0550-2400 (tis one from memory not too sure)
Taken from press release: Service 950 will ply from WRI via Woodlands Avenue 3 (Marsiling Station), Woodlands Centre Road, Woodlands Checkpoint, Johor Bahru Checkpoint to Kotaraya II Terminal.Originally posted by sbst275:If it uses 856 rt. i long expected it to pass by Marsiling MRT. i expect the svc to "snatch" away commuters who are travelling to kranji via yishun side earlier at woodlands and marsiling stations. also, a direct link between JB and the regional centre (with its shopping centres, 161, 168 and links to senoko industrial estate) is much appreciated.Originally posted by sbst275:If it uses 856 rt. Well, from what I found out, you have to pay at least $0.20 - $0.40 more by ez-link card. What's more, frequency is 4 for 1 SBS - SMRT bus ratio. Meaning, if I take SBS bus, I may have arrived Kota Raya earlier. Better also as I may be heading to Larkin instead. As what you have said bef, the free transfer will be better to JBians as they are more money concious.Originally posted by ^tamago^:i long expected it to pass by Marsiling MRT. i expect the svc to "snatch" away commuters who are travelling to kranji via yishun side earlier at woodlands and marsiling stations. also, a direct link between JB and the regional centre (with its shopping centres, 161, 168 and links to senoko industrial estate) is much appreciated.
previously, if i wanted to draw money from an atm or get a money changer in singapore and i dun have them near my house, i have to take mrt from yck, stop over at wdl, then up the mrt to kranji. or else i will have to take 903 or 911 (others too slow) to woodlands centre rd before walking all the way up to the departure hall at woodlands checkpoint (no point waiting for 170 to come at woodlands centre rd, it's too packed, freq is not gd, n u might get jam at woodlands crossing).
also, if i wanted to buy sth, it's not possible at kranji mrt station as there are no amenities there unlike woodlands reg int.
