no. actually there are people from the east who want to go to JB for shopping or holiday. it is not only ppl from the west that goes to JB. also, when u say most ppl take train to kranji, tat is because before 950, they have no other choices.Originally posted by sbst275:Most passengers take train to Kranji. As for your 161, 168, it is not a problem as most are from Jurong instead. Those are Senoko has motobike as of the poor transport links and they work like at shipyards.
Quite true. But at Senoko, you can see that not many take buses, you go see the tons of Malaysian motorbikes there... You know the term "tong pang?, many does that actually. But sad to say, most factory workers rent flats in Singapore.Originally posted by ^tamago^:no. actually there are people from the east who want to go to JB for shopping or holiday. it is not only ppl from the west that goes to JB. also, when u say most ppl take train to kranji, tat is because before 950, they have no other choices.
regarding senoko, u have to think of female factory workers who do not use bikes. there are males who use bikes work in construction sites in singapore which happen to be scattered everywhere in singapore also.
950 scores on providing a convenient and direct link between woodlands regional centre & woodlands checkpoint, and also to kota raya. i've seen the route details board at woodlands int and from WRI to kotaraya, it costs $0.83 by ez-link card w/o rebates.
Well, u can also walk across the causeway as well as 170 (Red) can be packed.Originally posted by iveco:Doesn't Senoko have 856 to serve the industries there?
yes, they have publicly indicated their target commuter base is from N, NE and E. Innova JC and less likely, Sports School, may have PRs who regularly go back to visit their relatives in m'sia.Originally posted by sbst275:It is found on ZB now...
Just a brief note
They launch the buses as of the more schools coming up such as sports school.
1) What reason is this? Most have the Malaysian buses
2) Sports School? It is only for Singaporeans or PR only
Another error, they said CW has 3 services now
Mainly to passengers at NE and North. But then, many JBians are not bothered as of the frequency and it does not go to Larkin
A SMRTB at JB?Originally posted by ^tamago^:yes, they have publicly indicated their target commuter base is from N, NE and E. Innova JC and less likely, Sports School, may have PRs who regularly go back to visit their relatives in m'sia.
notice the article mentioned on the second last paragraph tat causeway link calls at jurong east int. tat is sth new. anyway the photo of 448A was taken at jln tun abdul razak, jus outside the malaysian railway station at johor, very near the home-bound checkpoint. the pink building behind is city square, a singapore-styled shopping mall.
10,000 can be taken as the current traffic from singapore to jb. some will sway to SMRT's 950 and they expected this to be 20% i suppose. still, i like the idea of modern-looking Hispanos with their EDS on Malaysian roads!Originally posted by sbst275:A SMRTB at JB?
But that is not a main base right. They say only 2,000 to 3,000 will be taking daily shows that very little ppl, 160/ 170 comb is abt 10,000
No! It is 100,000 a day! Abt 30% takes public tptOriginally posted by ^tamago^:10,000 can be taken as the current traffic from singapore to jb. some will sway to SMRT's 950 and they expected this to be 20% i suppose. still, i like the idea of modern-looking Hispanos with their EDS on Malaysian roads!
okie. 10,000 pax who choose to take public buses into jb, not counting CW services.Originally posted by sbst275:No! It is 100,000 a day! Abt 30% takes public tpt
This is more appealing... Best is that they go LarkinOriginally posted by ^tamago^:SBST is launching a fierce publicity campaign a day ahead of the launch of 950 at bus stops near mrt stations, incl. yishun, khatib & yio chu kang, promoting "going to JB? kranji mrt station is the gateway..." with
- better bus frequency (every 3 mins to JB)
- better bus connections (more choices)
- free bus transfer at Woodlands and Johor Checkpoints between Svcs 160 & 170
