DD Bus and Bendy Bus..

WEll.. Hi.. Erm.. If you look closely, you would find that in SBST fleet, there are only 2 bendy bus in the fleet.. while in SMRTB you dont find any DD bus at all.. why is this so.. ?? SBST sticking to DD bus and SMRTB sticking to Bendy BUs... Hmmm.. why is this so.. ?? i find it very weird.. anYone oUt there to EnLigHten Mi iN anYwaY.. ??

anyway, to quote wat a recent newspaper report, LTa says it does not object to SMRT using DD's or SBST using Bendies, and emphasised that the road tax for both DDs and Bendies are the same at $900/6 months since they are taken to be taking up the same amount of space on the road and the possibility of causing damage to road structures is the same. (public buses don't pay COE).

aNybody knows why the reason that SBST doesnt wanna buy Bendy.. ?? actually it is more pratical for them to buy some of the Bendy and serve Service like 147 and 88...

SBST had already purchased many DDs before getting the bendies, and I think they decided to continue ordering DDs. -

Yap.. i agree.. actually.. it used to be quite empty.. But.. After the closure of Hougang South, routes were being transferred to Hougang Central.. after that, it begin to be cramped... Just this morning.. at 7:02am.. i was at Hougang Interchange... there waslike a Jam over there... Buses were keep coming in when theres already nO parking Space... 7218 - 7297 : Volvo Olympian 2-Axles = 98 buses (2 sold)
9000 - 9199 : Leyland Olympian 3-Axles = 199 buses (1 scrapped)
9200 - 9670 : Volvo Olympian 3-Axles = 471 buses
9671 - 9690 : Dennis Trident = 20 buses
9800 - 9849 (+ 988 : Volvo Super Olympian = 51 buses
Total DD : 839 buses
SBST will probably not buy bendies as they have already bought so many DDs.
