However, there are some services that get too much time, resulting in the driver driving like a snail. Example is svc 17, where drivers get up to 1h 40min for a roundtrip, when about 1h 20min would do. -
can i assume that, because the pax load tends to be low outside the city area, so the companies ASSUME that there's not too many passengers and so set irreasonable timings for the last service captains?

How much rest time do BCs on 14, 51 & 61 have between trips? How long does it take to complete each trip in both direction for these 3 services?

Service 61 takes about 2h 20min. Service 14 takes slightly less than 2h. -
service 166 also quite long... from AMK to Clementi...

This is my most direct route to Jurong East. Also, the most direct link between Pandan Gdns and Jurong East. -
SBS may have to reorganise the Western city bound buses

maybe that have to wait till the boon lay-tuas lrt/mrt extension is done, then they'll loosen the bottlenecks at jurong east and boon lay interchanges? i think service 51 might be one of the candidates for this..

Tranq, i suppose you live along West Coast Rd near Blk 726 market. Service 51 plies West Coast Rd while service 176 plies West Coast Highway. I can support the splitting up of service 51 into 2 services but I will not support service 51 withdrawing from Jurong East interchange, as this is the most direct route to West Coast Rd and Pasir Panjang Rd as compared to service 143 making one big round in Teban Gdns. -
I live in a flat beside this carpark road which at the end is a round-about. Extending it further and it meets Pandan Crescent. Going by your logic, 14 can become 2 svcs too. 61 is equally long, but there may be problems chopping it up due to it's nature as CTS. -

I think that 150min trip on svc 66 is because of the combined jams at Eunos, MacPherson, Little India, and Bukit Timah during peak hrs or certain hours of weekends. I think the timesheets (off peak) give it about 75 - 90 min.
I think svc 61 on average takes even longer than svc 51 due to its severe winding during all parts of its route.
