Haiz.. i really pity with them.. while speeding.. still have to look out of the safety of the passengers.. it will be worst if they miss a bus sTop.. and the pessangers might complain them to SBST HQ..Originally posted by sbst275:At night they can speed like crazy... You can try some other rts as well
Yes they speed like mad, especially along Pasir Panjang Rd which is probably svc 51's best speeding area.Originally posted by sBs_boy:Are you sure they can go according to the Time Sheet.. ?? its like.. almost 40 mins is gone.. ?? how do they make up.. ?? speed all the way.. ??
No. They take to the traffic condition recorded at the ez-link system (How fast on average can a bus arrive from the 2 specific fare stages).Originally posted by kuekj:can i assume that, because the pax load tends to be low outside the city area, so the companies ASSUME that there's not too many passengers and so set irreasonable timings for the last service captains?
Service 51 BCs have about 30min rest and take about 2h to complete the trip (daytime). Peak hrs can add 10-15min.Originally posted by iveco:How much rest time do BCs on 14, 51 & 61 have between trips? How long does it take to complete each trip in both direction for these 3 services?
If 166 is long, 143 is equally long. both have similar numbers of fare stages.Originally posted by medicheng:service 166 also quite long... from AMK to Clementi...
i think 51 and 147 die die cannot be chopped from hougang... if chop off... i think more people will KPKB
perhaps can stop at Ghim Moh or Bouna Vista... I missed the full 97 route thru... and 502Originally posted by iveco:If 166 is long, 143 is equally long. both have similar numbers of fare stages.
Then can 51 be chopped from jurong?

Tranq, i suppose you live along West Coast Rd near Blk 726 market. If I'm not wrong, that area is in svc 176 catchment. the town map @ CLE Int does not show it as it is run by an archrival.Originally posted by tranquilice:Cannot chop service 51 from Jurong EastThis is my most direct route to Jurong East. Also, the most direct link between Pandan Gdns and Jurong East.
Service 51 plies West Coast Rd while service 176 plies West Coast Highway. Somemore service 176 doesn't go to Jurong East interchange.Originally posted by iveco:Tranq, i suppose you live along West Coast Rd near Blk 726 market. I live in a flat beside this carpark road which at the end is a round-about. Extending it further and it meets Pandan Crescent. Happy guessing.Originally posted by iveco:Tranq, i suppose you live along West Coast Rd near Blk 726 market. Going by your logic, 14 can become 2 svcs too. One from CLE to Suntec & another from BDK to Tomlinson Rd. 51 can become 2 svcs ending @ NBR since the terminal is so bare nowadays.Originally posted by tranquilice:I can support the splitting up of service 51 into 2 services but I will not support service 51 withdrawing from Jurong East interchange, as this is the most direct route to West Coast Rd and Pasir Panjang Rd as compared to service 143 making one big round in Teban Gdns.
